His rebounds numbers were bad, but he did not look "really bad" I thought he looked a little better each game. If he is really only 20 then I would see no reason why he can't continue to get better. At the very least he can protect the rim. And his passing skills are better than I expected. Certainly not a starter at this point. But I think he can give us 7 minutes a half.
Weird. We finally ARE relevant because we have the best young point guard in the league and now you’re bailing?
The move of a desperate franchise without any good options, but we should all be used to that by now.
Best young point guard in the league?? The guy hasn’t played a second in a real NBA game yet. Having a talented rookie doesn’t make you “relevant”—it just means you have a chance of being relevant in the future.
Wait... Out of everything, THIS is the signing that took you down? Lol I'm just glad we're moving past the dame era. We finally have hope to have a non sucky offense and defense. Hope. Lol
We need a rim protector and someone with experience, and this dude has that if he actually comes. Where we are now, not sure why people are being overly dramatic about it. I'll welcome him with open arms.
Between Dame and Scoot, we’ve been the lead in NBA stories for about 3 weeks straight. Right now we’re relevant. Whether that means “Tank Mode Coming” or “Young Guns trying to Make Noise” or “Major League”-level pulling it together, we’re pretty relevant right now. How long that goes on depends on what comes back for Dame and how Scoot/Sharpe/others look in real games.
I like that Joe added more Euro scouts all in all. We have absolutely nothing to lose by bringing in Tavares...I think it's a more interesting signing than a Moses Brown or Javalle McGee
They made an offer a while ago. Then RM offered 3M. He has a release clause Portland can only pay 300k of that’s over 6M euros. Portland also has its BAE and 10.5M of its TPE left. curiously he hasn’t signed yet. That’s all we know.
Desperate? Bro, we're in a rebuild. Desperate was last year. We are doing marginal moves until a decision is made about Dame. Man, this thread is wild to me.
I tend to agree. I've lived through 4-5 rebuilds that I remember. This one feels dramatically different. We have two guys who have elite potential both 20 years old. I actually am quite happy to see what Scoot and Sharpe can do and I look forward to seeing what Cronin can do to build around his two extremely impressive drafts. I see Sharpe as eventually the best in the 2022 draft and Scoot may very well end up being the best in his class as well or 1A after Wemby.
Bill Cartwright was an All-Star. Bill Cartwright was the 3rd pick in the draft. Bill Cartwright averaged 19ppg in his career. Walter Tavares played about 27 games for the Hawks, then got cut.
yeah let me know when we’re good again in 5 years. Nobody in this forum has watched more blazer basketball than me in the last 20 years. think I deserve a break from the torment of mediocrity
