the Blazers will have a bunch of cap room soon. I believe Christian will land in Portland. Wood shoots lots of threes, which is an integral part of Billups spray & pray offense. Plus, Wood sits out a bunch of games, so the Front Office can continue to tell fans that injuries are why the Blazers keep losing.

I could see a team where Scoot runs the offense through Nurk like Dame running through LMA his rookie year, offering drive and dish opportunities, passes off the double, lots of pick and roll with the nice first step Scoot has, etc. of course if Nurk wants to leave so badly he’s trolling on Twitter maybe we don’t see him on the team for long, but I want to give him a chance to see what the offense could give him.

Assuming Nurk is gone, we need a good roller for Scoot this season. Who on this list is should we target? Claxton is obviously the dream, but wouldn’t mind taking a swing on Richards or Gafford.

Pass on Wood. Dallas didn’t even care to recoup a frp only a year after dealing for him. I think most teams see the writing on the wall.

I wouldn’t mind taking a chance on Ben Simmons if it meant we could get Nic Claxton.

Seems like a good guy to have in the locker room too. Always folds his towels real nice.

Haha. He is definitely a great person. Know him personally and always said to him that he would love it in Portland.

That's amazing. I'm wondering if San Antonio will try to pry him loose from Atlanta to save Victor from getting bodied the first couple of years.

Wouldn't be the worst idea. For Portland I don't see it with Nurk still around

Avoiding better rim protection and rebounds was a crucial component of last year's stealth tank for Scoot. It's a wise and patient move by Cronin to push pause on filling the gap where the Blazers struggled most last season. Spurs, Pistons, Hornets, Rockets, Blazers, all young teams lacking depth at big man positions, and by no coincidence, they all landed top 5 lottery picks.

If it works, then don't fix it.

The reality should be to tank.

Try to get Cody Williams (if he improves) or Matas Buzelis with the Blazers pick. Buzelis has potential to be a 4/5. Looks a bit like a Hayward/KD/Dirk hybrid. More Hayward than KD/Dirk.

Use the Heat pick from the Dame trade to nab Zach Edey. Project center who can become good. If Jokic is a Sabonis-Shaq hybrid.....I feel Edey is Yao-Ewing. Not as great a prospect as Jokic, a bit slower, but wouldn't be bad for a late first round pick. Is adding a three point shot to his game, soon. Hopefully, he continues breaking the college PER record like he has the past two seasons.

Otherwise, tank some more, trying to get either Cooper Flagg or Cam Boozer. Either would save the franchise but Flagg just looks like a special player with winning attributes. He's probably the guy who can stop Wemby, especially if you have Scoot and Sharpe backing him up.
