He has never played more than 68 games in a season. It’s a significant risk.

I fully understand this point, and you are right, but at the same time, we have had so many nightmares in our history with injured centers. Yes, this year's champions were led by a center, but the Joker's durability is rare. I would still rather roll the dice on Sharpe and Scoot. Tough call though

It would be hella risky but building a potential title contender is the only reason to consider it. Dame/Embiid could be the best duo in the league.

Yeah, it’s a gamble either way, but I have a better feeling about being able to put a team around Scoot and Sharpe in the next 10 years. Trying to cobble a roster together around Dame and Embiid on a short runway would be tough.

Would be a pretty comical 180 if it went from we're getting scraps for Lillard to us moving Scoot+ for Embiid.

(No, I do not think there's even a 1% chance of that)

He's the first player that would actually change our stars and would be worth the haul....

But I still would have real reservations about it.

Getting Embiid, to go along side Dame would be, by far, the greatest chance to contend this team has had since 2000. I doubt it's a possibility, but if it is, you go all in on it. Cause while these young fellas could have bright futures, that's still an unknown .
Embiid and Dame are proven in the now. I'd trade Scoot & Sharpe in a heartbeat, and wouldn't think twice , if Morey offered it. Because even if Scoot & Sharpe turn out to be great, they're not guaranteed to want to stay in Portland. That's as much a reality as the Blazers being able to acquire Joel.

You KNOW if Embiid came to Portland his knees would just explode as he steps off the plane.

This is why I said not to move Dame before Harden is settled.

The awkwardness of Dame still being here does not warrant us rushing and taking on subpar return for him.

Like Joe alluded in his press conference, expect the unexpected

Not a chance. We would have two stars but barely a supporting cast, no bench to speak of, and no backup plan for when Embiid and/or Dame goes down. Dame and Nurk have already vocally expressed interest in being literally as far from Portland as the NBA allows for, and we think this will make it all better for them or us? This is a bad deal.

(EDIT: I know nobody here is talking about this like it's a 100% perfect trade, but wow... even considering it seems wild to me)

Yup. Especially now. The free agents are gone. We have no way of filling out the roster.

That ship has sailed. Embrace the rebuild, or don't. Do what you gotta do.

Following the example of the Heat with Dame, Cronin is playing hardball with the Sixers, holding to his original trade offer of Nas, Keon and two firsts for Embiid ... reportedly the Blazers want to keep Badji ....
