Nobody knows what's sailed or hasn't. Folks will embrace the end result. Whatever it may be.

I'm just glad all the Miami fans are done talking for the most part. Reality setting in.

Nah, that's our final and best.

Right now it's two firsts, Nurk, and they can choose one of Keon or Nas.

Embiid is just what the Blazers need to get into the championship picture. He's a superstar, a difference-maker, and I heard he wanted to come to Portland. He's done a lot for the Sixers.

Wait, Morey wants more than Nurk, Keon/Nas and two firsts? That's a pretty generous deal for a guy with his injury history. You know, Nurk's pretty good. The Blazers could just play it back. We don't need Embiid that badly.

... did I do that right?

What, two stars and barely a supporting cast. Sounds like the Phoenix Suns to me.

Everyone talking as if Embid is trying to get traded, but another possibility is this is Embid pissed because he’s hearing Maxey isn’t even on the table in trying to get Dame. Not that Maxey would be a Blazers target but he’s a much more flippable asset than Herro.

just like Dame is asking out because he feels the Blazers never went all in, Embid might be feeling the same way but earlier in the process.

    just a thought.

I wouldn't trade Maxey for Dame, he's 10 years younger and 100 million cheaper. And he brings pretty much the same thing as Dame, scoring.

He's gonna see the deals guys like Bane, etc. signed this offseason. and want the same from Philly next offseason. 5/200. Then he aint so cheap. Yeah, he offers scoring like Dame. Except that's playing off of Embiid and Harden. He was assisted on 44% of his 2s, 72% of his 3s. Dame was at 16 and 52%, respectively. And, he's just not the scorer Dame is. And then, there's that Dame was also a much better distributor, bcause he actually runs the point. Maxey is a 6'2" SG.

Hurts pretty bad to offer a Scoot/Sharpe package.

Might have to do that if you're Portland though. Opportunities like this never come to the PNW.

My stipulation would be NOT including future unprotected picks/swaps.
Sure, offer a bunch of protected picks. If this thing were to blow up (highly likely), at worst it sets us back 3-4 years of a rebuild.

    With no picks? We're fucked.

I don't think you let Scoot go, even for Embiid. Shaedon I would include. That said, Embiid would never want to come here.
Embiid has had tremendous supporting casts and can't get over the hump. Simmons wanted out, Butler...out, and now Harden wants out. What is the common denominator? He knows the pressure is on now that Jokic got a title last year.

Embiid’s comments sound a lot more like him telling Morey to forget about Maxey and go get Dame than they sound like a trade demand. Reminds me of Dame at this time 2020.

I don't remember the dynamics around Butler leaving, but Simmons was clearly not the guy, and Harden, although he claims to want to win, is too fat and pre-occupied with partying to actually put in work.
So you could argue Embiid has never had a true superstar teammate aside from Butler.
They basically almost won it at vs the Raptors, but went down on that ridiculous Kawhi shot.

So give Dame a chance with Embiid if he's available.

Harden to Clips starts the roll. Time for Morey to restart the process.

Dame/Thybulle/Grant/Embiid is an immediate contender. Perhaps even a favorite in the west right next to Phoenix and Denver.

We would have a legit TITLE window for around 3 yrs. In three years, the Scoot led Blazers might go .500.

yaaa, I guess Embiid was quoted yesterday saying he wants to win a championship someday, and doesn't care what team he's on to get a ring. So the NYC media jumped onto the web and yelled "first !".

I’d trade Scoot and Simons but NOT Sharpe for Embiid. Sharpe plays at a position of need and has the highest ceiling of the three by a mile. Scoot has a better attitude but Sharpe has a MUCH higher cwiling. Scoot may become a star or even lower tier Superstar. Sharpe could be a top 3-5 player in the League if it all clicks.

Embiid at 29 with ZERO 70-game regular seasons out of 7 played and 2 missed. 2 51-gamers and a 31. 53 total playoff games in 6 years … and he’s an MVP who hasn’t risen in the playoffs.
That clock is ticking. Embiid just sent a message to Morey AND is just starting a 4-year extension!

Are Tobias Harris (31) and Maxey (23) enough if they get back decent players from the Clippers — Powell (30) and Covington (33) for Harden?

Is this a 1 or 2 season go for it by Morey then tear it down to build around Maxey?

    Unbelievable.

Wouldn’t trade an unknown rookie for the MVP and perennial MVP contender?

This is why I was taking a break from this place.

    Back to vacation I go.
