I made a delivery to World Foods on Barbur yesterday. A whole bunch of milk. Owner asked me what kind of milk I thought it was. I said, goat? He said, that’s camels milk. It goes quick in here. I asked what it tastes like. He said, ‘breast milk’ hard pass
True of haute cuisine but French Provincial is much healthier, more olive oil than butter and cream. More legumes and vegetables.
Its ok friend, I don't get riled up over something like that haha. Fried catfish is delicious. Now if someone claims Mel Brooks is not a comedic genius now....that's a whole other thing.
Bouillabaisse was the only meal that consistently stood out to me I thought most other things lacked flavor or just weren’t as good as I was led to believe “bouef bourguinon”.
I just started getting into it but Kabsa is really good https://nishkitchen.com/chicken-kabsa-arabian-rice-video/ As are Cabbage Rolls https://www.maureenabood.com/cabbage-rolls-in-tomato-broth/
As did mine! Her recipe was from an old Lebanese lady that lived in my dad's neighborhood when he was a kid. I have the recipe somewhere at home but the one I posted is pretty similar
I like the stuffed peppers and chick peas, yogurt and feta cheese, pilaf and millet...I have no problem with goat meat as well...I find lots of Middle Eastern food to be wonderful and satisfying.
I dated a Lebanese girl for awhile and couldn’t get a taste for it. Not a huge fan. I mean I’d eat it because I just like food. But definitely not a preference. I felt like it not hearty enough. Never felt full or satisfied. Don’t even get me started on the hooka stuff either. So dumb.
To HCP "middle eastern" probably means you never get an aisle or window seat on flights across the country
They carry Tillamook ice cream here in Texas, but I found some Marionberry pie flavor last week, so that’s a win
I was going to make brownies for a get together but realized I am down to my last two eggs and brownies need three. Not up for extra trip to store so making oatmeal fudge bars.
My aunt made peanut butter oatmeal cookies that were not cooked, just refrigerated. Ive never known anyone but here to ever make those and have never seen them in the public market place. They were super good.
