Assuming we haven't traded Dame by training camp, then four of our best 5 players will be guards, and 3 of them shorter than 6'3" (and none of them known to be even adequate defenders). People keep talking about dumping Nurk, but for God's sake he's our only reliable rebounding big! Are we likely to go into training camp like this?
name a guard on the roster that's not Scoot or Dame that's under 6'3.......there isn't one....Ant is taller than that, Matisse and Shaedon are both taller than that
The internet is never wrong! I even have new spectacles to prove it! We have two guards under 6'3 and one of them has the wingspan of a 7' player.
Another point that keeps getting misconstrued is that we have don't have any 7 ft players...we have 3 under contract, two under 2 way deals as it is...Nurk, Badji and Butler
Something will give. We will see a trade and this organization is not worried about winning right now. So they'll sit Dame if they want to or play all of our guards at the same fucking time. This is not a win now team. I'm only worried about the idea that we will try to play the next 8 seasons with Ant, Scoot and Shae starting at 1-3. I don't want Shae to have to play up a position and I don't want a small back court. I'm sick and fucking tired of that bullshit. That being said, there are a lot of moves to be made and we just have to wait and see how things shake out. I think we'll have a much better idea of what our assets moving forward look like by the trade deadline and hopefully clarity on the Dame situation sooner than that (before training camp would be great). The fact is that there is a lot of time to see what gives but the OP is right in asserting their will be somethings.
It's weird how Scoot was called a decent defender earlier in the summer, and now he's not a good defender. I wish people would find one narrative and stick to it.
When it comes to Dame, his height does not matter. CP3, Isaiah, Curry, Iverson, Stockton. . When you play like these dudes, being 6'2 is not an issue
Roster balance has been a challenge frankly since LA walked. For some reason, Neil was enamored with small lineups. He constantly traded size for smaller players. Starting Powell at the 3 was really a low point. Until we trade Lillard, we're going to continue to be wildly imbalanced.
We are rebuilding. It does not matter. What matters is that our key guys are getting minutes. Dame is gone.
