Politics Texas elimating school libraries

    so the Houston School district is closing 28 school libraries and turning them into detention centers for kids who get kicked out of class. While I do think it is good that the are doing something with the disruptive students, closing down the libraries seems crazy. I guess reading and research are not important to the Houston school district.

    Don't want the kids to get tempted and pick up a book while on detention I guess...what a stupid way to get kids to focus on school. Dentention should be in the fucking library and time spend reading books.

    A more perfect encapsulation of current Republican priorities would be pretty much impossible. Unless it was a giant border wall with "ALL LIVES MATTER" on it.
