watch some Zach LaVine highlights vs. Blazers last year. Zach is plenty "big enough" to be the starting SF on the Blazers Smurf squad. So is Tyler Herro if Dame goes to Miami.
Blazer fans have a sickness. We seem to be allergic to size and length. I’m not sure how to cure this.
I was going to write-up a well thought out response, but then I figured I could just let Prof sum it up nicely for me (in one word, nonetheless):
Denny is a Bulls fan dreaming of leaving sub-mediocre purgatory, so this sort of proposal is expected. Unfortunately for Bulls fans, the PTB don't exist to help them out. The Blazers roster doesn't lack backcourt players who can get up shots. They lack versatile 3 & D frontcourt players, who can run a pick and roll and rim run. What talent Portland has will need several years to develop before they're (hopefully) ready to compete... it's going to be a process. It would be best to add players who are on that timeline not guys who will be over 30 with several knee surgeries in their past. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...oes-successful-left-knee-arthroscopic-surgery STOMP
My Lord in heaven Denny Crane yet lives! Nice to see you post Denny. Honestly, I'm on the "anywhere but Miami" train. I think LaVine is a great player and he's also a lot easier to trade than Dame, he's younger and cheaper and is somewhat similar in play. Sure Dame is decisively better, but LaVine isn't anything to sneeze at, and worse case scenario we can move him and Grant at the deadline (can we trade LaVine again at the deadline?) or next offseason. I am open to this mostly from a F*** Miami point of view.
Yeah maybe a third team would give up value for LaVine... maybe that team ends up being Miami (there assets are more in line with a LaVine level player). I would take Patrick Williams, us not owing them a pick anymore, a future FRP or two and whatever a third team would give up for LaVine in the way of prospects, expiring contracts and draft assets.
