Florida high school no longer allowed to teach AP psychology class. The class includes generally accepted views of the medical community regarding gender and sexual orientation, which are banned in the free state of Florida.

the political career fumbling desantis managed by running a limp dick campaign that can't gain any traction against a guy with 3 indictments needs to be studied. hoping for some media outlet to give a thorough post mortem that goes over the fine details like being backed by the absolute worst of the worst of republican donors and getting market corrected by a guy in a different party who thinks covid was engineered to spare jewish people.

Yeah, pretty sad he can't beat a candidate with three indictments. Pre Trump, a candidate with three different indictments wouldn't still be running. There was a time when if a candidate were mired in such controversy they would end their campaign. Now, it's run anyway.

If Trump weren't running, Desantis would likely be the front runner. The right though is obsessed with their criminal former commander in cheeto.

You talked about Trump more than DeSantis in your reply. I don't blame you at all for that because Ron is barely relevant on his own, he needs to be tethered to something to stay above water. Even this thread is about Never Trumpers voting for Ron instead of Don, the man is completely dependent on current events. Total bore with zero people skills either, desperately tries to be one of the guys whenever he is around supporters. If boycotting a company because they had a transgender person out of frame in a commercial for 0.07 seconds isn't in the news cycle, he can't get anyone to listen to him speak.

Just making the point that the republicans (the politicians) gave control of their party to Trump and are now kicking themselves. The polls show the majority of republican voters are still devoted to him. There is no one even close in that primary.

But, yeah DeSantis is not a strong candidate. He piggybacks off of others playbooks, using Youngkin's attacks on schools, Abbott's shipping of immigrants to other states, etc. He kisses Trump's ass and coattail rides, somehow thinking he can beat him. His campaign has proven an embarrassment.

I sure hope this turns out to be something and lands squarely on DeSantis.

Woah. That's in Monticello, only a 30 minute drive from my house. We were out hiking in that area a couple of weeks ago, found a poor lost kitty out in the woods, and of course now have a newly adopted cat. We named him Monti, since he's from Monticello.

It's pretty crazy how racism is now mainstream (again) in Florida education, and no one bats an eye there.

Federal employees asked DeSantis to retract statement he will cut throats of employees his first day. I've seen Arya Stark, Ronny, and you're no Arya Stark.

Republicans didn't give control to Trump. He took it.

I guess they kind of gave it to him by being the racist, anti-education, anti-environment party which largely relies on religion, thereby opening the party up to being extremely susceptible to propaganda.

A Trump was bound to come along eventually... But they were trying to hold him down. They did everything they could. But their party had gone too far and having a black president for two full terms pushed them over the edge...

The only way Trump could have taken control of the GOP was because the GOP politicians allowed Trump to do so...Trump led them like lemmings and they chose to follow him and the same can be said of his MAGA voters.

Nobody forced McConnell and McCarthy, et al, to go along with Trump's insanity, but they were so concerned with their jobs and how Trump's voter base would react, they simply capitulated, because they were spineless..

Trump gave them tax cuts for the rich and right wing judges. They made a deal with the devil and got the devil.
