Should we be surprised/disappointed Sharpe isn't on the Canada team and and Rupert isn't on the french team?
Is Scoot likely to get invited in a couple years to compete on the Olympic squad?

Both the Canadian and French teams are loaded. No room for our unproven youngins yet.

Thybulle is playing for Australia though.

Reath, Thybulle on Australia, potential targets Jovic for Serbia, Edy Tavares for Cape Verde. Flier big Usman Garuba will be a depth piece for Spain.

Rupert is way too raw and I bet Shaedon declined an invitation because he declined an invitation an entire year to play for Kentucky.

Apparently Cade Cunningham kicked Team USA's ass, so I'm kind of glad no Blazers are on it

I don’t know if Shaedon was invited or not. I’m sure he’ll be on the national team in the future if he wants to be though.

Living in Canada I can tell for certain Shaedon Sharpe was not invited to play for Canada’s FIBA team. Neither was Benedict Mathurin. Canada pulled this roster together two years ago and asked the players to make a three-year commitment to get them through the FIBA Worlds and the ‘24 Paris Olympics. It’s one of the reasons why Andrew Wiggins isn’t playing either because he was unwilling to make that long term commitment due to family reasons. Shaedon and Benedict were both in college at the time so were unknowns and hence weren’t considered, especially with the depth at the wing positions.

Don’t read into WHO is playing WHERE. Have you seen our US roster, shit they got beat by the practice squad TWICE already down in Vegas. Hell I could play for whatever the fuck Cape Verde is.

Watching this and I thought I saw our Murray (46 in grey). Of course it was Keegan, which led me to wonder what would it take to get them to Parent Trap it?

I just don’t put them on pedestals until they have done something. Doesn’t matter who it is. Felt the same way about Dame.

Thybulle is definitely playing. Reath is in camp, but may not make the final roster, depends on the play style the coach is after. Former Blazers Patty Mills and Joe Ingles will definitely make the roster as grizzled vets.

Correct, Reath is on the initial expanded roster.

Spain currently leading USA 65-64. I almost didn't recognize Rudy and Claver in the new black-and-gold

Funnily enough I recognized Rudy by the way he moved before I saw his face.

This US team has zero size. Lithuania should have fun if they play them.

Probably several teams they face will have a better #1 player than the US team. Possibly one or two will have better #2, but nobody will have better #3-12 or 15 or whatever.
