But Ohalete, who was released from the team before the season, sued after Portis didn't pay him half of the fee. The two eventually reached a settlement worth $18,000.Bush has extra incentive to try to land No. 5. No one on Houston wears number 5. Perhaps they can list Reggie as a QB... he just happened to run the ball and line up in the backfield a lot.
edge tried to do that. he got shot down. He better not get special treatment just because he will be the 1st overall pick.
They should let him wear it, whats the big deal? Its only a number and Reggie Bush deserves to wear #5

That was like 4-5 years ago before he got drafted but football is really different right now. Hopefully the NFL lets Bush wear No. 5, if not then the NFL front office can go and screw themself for all i care

If I were reggie I wouldn't worry about it too much. You make your mark in the NFL through play rather than a number that no one cares about. Troy Williamson switched back to 82 btw.

TE's can wear 40's too.........because they can be h-backs. dallas clark is 44.ps.....I think Edge wanted to wear 5 too. he wore it in preseason one year but they made him change for the regular season. maybe bush will do that too.
It's a damn number. The NFL shouldn't care about what number people use. It's supposed to help out the refs, but that's BS. The refs don't need to worry about that, they can use instant replay if they care that much. Just let him wear 5.

Imagine what will happen with uniform sales if this happens. There will be so many players who want to switch their jersey numbers. Edge will switch for sure, and his cards jersey has been like the number 1 seller right now.
