Miami fans need to face the reality that their early hopes of getting one of the best point guards in the league for peanuts was all in their heads.
When the trade didn't happen, they got stuck in the Denial/Anger stages and "Who is to blame" is obviously Cronin.
Who knows if the Heat will ever engage in serious Bargaining, so the next step for Heat fans is hopefully Depression.

    Denial: This can’t be happening.
Anger: Why did this happen? Who is to blame?
Bargaining: Make this not happen and I will…
Depression: I can’t bear this; I’m too sad to do anything.
Acceptance: I acknowledge that this has happened, and I cannot change it.

Seems wild to put Murray and Rupert into the equation, but hey I'm curious to see what he means and why they are "not normal". Sharpe and Scoot definitely are in that category, Rupert and Murray I want to hear a case made.

Kris Murray will be a 23-year-old rookie. That is not normal.

Scoot = playing in the G League already
    Murray = 23 years old
Rupert = played professionally in Australia

That's all I can think of :dunno:

How do we tell Heat reporters that they have zero sway in the negotiations and don’t work for the Heat front office?

I'll throw this idea out there - it's a variation on others:

    fanspo-nba-trade-machine-snap_8-12-2023_2-28-49PM.png

Miami gets their guy. The pick they receive would be the lowest of the Denver/PHX '25 picks - thus allowing them to unlock the '24 & '26 picks to send to Portland.

Orlando upgrades their SG spot, and fights for a playoff spot. They give up 3 players who don't contribute much. The Orlando pick given up would be lotto protected.

Portland gets 5 picks and Jaquez. They take a chance on 3 others (Ben, Jovic, and Okeke) to see if they will be able to play well enough to secure their next contract.

Nets improve their roster construction, while dumping one year off of Ben. Nets are primarily included because the '25PHX pick is needed to go to Miami to unlock their other picks. The '25Denver pick is lotto protected, and although it is most likely to convey - it's not guaranteed.

Miami should not be allowed to protect any pick they send to Portland

Ah, the lyrical labyrinth that is Damian Lillard's rap game – weaving tales of triumphs and challenges, both on and off the porcelain throne. Delve a little deeper into the rhymes "getting better with my time... I knew what I wanted, had to make up my mind, took a little patience... now it all aligns," and you might just unearth a tale of digestive derring-do.

Seems like Dame's not just dropping bars, but also finally finding the secret recipe to drop a deuce with finesse. The line "getting better with my time" could well be a nod to those clock-watching moments spent in the smallest room of the house, where he's contemplating life, liberty, and the pursuit of regularity.

And when he croons "took a little patience," it's like a soulful ballad of waiting for that magical moment when all the stars align and the porcelain throne becomes a place of triumph rather than turmoil.

Let's not forget the whispered rumors among the janitorial staff who toil tirelessly at the practice facility – tales of Dame's audible battles with his own body's tempo. But now, it seems, those struggles have culminated in a symphony of syncopation and release.

It's as if the ghost of our good ol' great-grandpappies is nodding in approval, for Dame has waltzed through the pages of history and emerged victorious, finding a rhythm that resonates with the echoes of ages past.

So here's to Damian Lillard, the lyrical wordsmith who's turned life's little digestive conundrums into a folksy saga of triumph over tribulation. In the grand tapestry of human existence, he's woven a thread that reminds us all – even in life's most intimate moments, there's always room for a little poetic finesse.

I don't think Dame is messing up this trade. I think it's nobody in their right mind would pay Kyle Lowry 28m is what's messing up every trade.

Not everyone matures at the same rate and the same time. If simmons is healthy, id take a shot at him, but not straight up. There must he more than that for Dame. If its a three team, question is what would the mets want for him? Herro, i think i read they weren't interested?

Another factor. If we traded Dame for Simmons fillers aNd picks, Ant probably needs to stay.
We would have two poor shooters who like to play downhill with the ball. Scoot and Ben. They will need shooters like Ant.
More i think about it can a team do anything with two average to poor shooters who both like to drive downhill? Is two one too many? Or would they sub each other and who gets cut minutes?
    Not sure that could work.
