yes, the new talking point fresh off the local radio shows. Nobody wants Lillard's oppressive contract/low basketball I.Q. Portland fans overvalue Dame.

Actually I think his age is the main issue. Age and contract.

Are you kidding me? Yes, MUCH better. Herro is useless to us. Ben Simmons has skills no one else on our team has. Like I said, I’d do Dame for Simmons straight up.

47% FT shooting is definitely a unique skill no other Blazer has. Makes Chris Dudley look like a sniper from the charity stripe.

Nothing personal, but you said this about Josh Hart:
"He was turning down shots we needed him to take. Made him a liability on offense."

    And yo want Simmons?

Simmons is 6'10 240 and an all-NBA defender who can guard pretty much everyone. So put me in the camp that thinks he fills a need we don't have.

I know what you said and it was stupid when you said it several hours ago. It hasn't got any smarter as the day has progressed

Shaq was a bad FT shooter too and he’s a better player than any on our roster.

Yes because Simmons is way better than Hart in every other aspect of the game.

you may recall that for a couple of years now I've been saying that a Dame-trade was not going to yield the haul or godfather package many expected

some of the teams that would have been quite interested in him have already went all in on other players, so that curbs the market. That he's 6'2, 33 years old and a defensive minus curbs his market further. His extension has an impact on his market too, although I believe people are exaggerating how big that impact is

and finally, the actions and words of Dame's agent in the first week of the saga have seriously cratered Dame's value. Not only did it keep potential bidders out of the market, it encouraged Miami to play the lowball-rip-off card, and it's for certain that other front offices know what Miami has offered. There's not reason for them to beat that in any significant way

if Dame really wants to get traded into a good situation, he needs to first, fire his agent, then allow for other destinations than Miami, then show up to training camp in a good frame of mind, then perform at his highest level when the season starts

What’s the superior centerpiece from Miami? You ducked that question unless its on the next page. Simmons is far better than anyone not named Butler or Bam on Miami. He’s an absolutely elite 1-5 switchable defender even when otherwise playing like trash and a great player on the break. Plus for me the centerpiece would be the FRP’s and the potential of Clowney and Whitehead and the upside of a engaged and healthy Simmons is pretty massive. Miami’s offer is dogshit by comparison.

KingS -- you lost all credibility by saying that Simmons is better then Hart cause that is complete BS and that is a fact. -- LOL

He would have the uncanny skill of letting the other team double our backcourt. What the hell are we waiting for?

O'Neil is a top 10 player of all time.
Simmons is a top 10 scam artist of all time.

Given his age, height and skill set, Simmons should be untouchable for a player with Dame’s age and defensive limitations. But, because of his bad back and mental limitations, he’s not.

KingSpeed opinions on trading Simmons are biased. I just realized some affiliation with the Nets.

How many All-NBA teams has Hart made? How many All Star teams? Simmons is taller, better passer, better defender, better FG%, I mean it’s not close.

Nate could find 4 Matisse Thybulle's for 1 Ben Simmons contract. I think Jody would take Nate's idea.
