<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>49ers | Woods traded for DavisWed, 12 Apr 2006 16:21:32 -0700The San Francisco 49ers have traded WR Rashaun Woods to the San Diego Chargers in exchange for CB Sammy Davis.</div>Both players are former 1st round picks who have performed less than their draft status, but it's still a pretty big deal considering.

This is a trade that doesn't look like much right now, 2 underperforming players, but will be huge for both teams. Sammy davis isn't the bump and run corner the chargers like, and rashaun woods just could never get on the field.

It's basically bust for bust. Maybe the change of scenery will work for both players.

I wouldn't really consider Woods a bust. He's been in the league what, two years? He wasn't even worth a 1st rounder to begin with, so San Fran ruined his first 2-3 seasons of his career by putting all the pressure on him to play like a 1st rounder. I think he'll do fine in SD.

Niners better hope Santonio Holes or Chad Jackson slips to the 2nd cause they need a reciever. :ninja:

I think both sides benefit here, San Fran could use a CB like Davis who has some potential cuz their secondary isn't the strongest.. and the Chargers basically have no wide outs so adding Woods cannot hurt, like Uptown said, sometimes all it takes is a change in scenery
