Then we might look to move Ant to Toronto who needs a long term lead guard. I think Ant is worth these young players and expiring contracts both of which (Porter and Young) we would need to waive. View attachment 57227
I'd do this deal every day and twice on Sunday. Why would Toronto do that?
I'd do this deal every day and twice on Sunday. Why would Toronto do that?
They need a long term solution at lead guard. I think Ant has proven that he can do that at a pretty high level. Maybe it's just me overvaluing our players but although there was a rumor that Toronto wasn't into Ant for OG they might be more open to a player they haven't invested as much into and seen have a ton of success.
While I wouldn't do that deal any day of the week let alone Sunday, Toronto's motivation would be that they'd be getting the best player in the deal at a position of real need for them. STOMP
Look, I'm not gonna beat around the bush. Call me a pussy, I don't care. I just can't get behind Dick.
The 5-team Damian Lillard-James Harden trade no one is talking about Maybe there's a good reason nobody's talking about it?
Not sure what Washington's inclusion in that really accomplishes, or how it's any better than the (not great) 4-team version that I've posted a couple times. In fact, I'd go so far as to say their's is markedly worse. Their version has us taking Powell back, taking Duncan Robinson, and giving up Nurk for that privilege? Just terrible.
Plus, I don't see Morey wanting to facilitate Dame to Miami in any way, shape, or form. Morey is staring down the barrel of an Embiid gun. If he loses Harden for a pile of garbage, which is what LAC and Miami are offering for superstar players, he's going to lose Embiid. There's no way Embiid is going to be happy with Tyler Herro as the best player coming back in a Harden trade. If I'm Embiid, I'm furious right now at Morey. He went from a lineup featuring Simmons, Butler, Harris to now potentially having Maxey, Herro, and Harris? That would be depressing.
He's a nerd. Just like Fentress. Both were the last pick in every kick ball, basketball and baseball game growing up. They both probably had a little black book hit list until they got therapy later in life. Both still play Dungeons and Dragons and dress up for campaigns
Blazers get 4 FRP plus a first round swap, plus a better value at center, plus two prospects in Jaquez/Jovic Heat gets Dame/Nurk/Korkmaz and get to keep their 2024 pick, 2027 pick, and one of 2025/2026 with OKC getting the other. Clippers Get Harden 6ers get Herro and Martin both starting quality with some backup Batum minutes
Because the Harden situation is toxic. Yes Morey is ok pushing for a time with that, but Harden also doesn't have a ton of trade value. Herro and Martin are both starting caliber players and either or both could potentially have better seasons than a mid 30's Harden on an expiring contract. Herro is locked up much cheaper for 4 more years. Martin is on an excellent contract. They have Maxey and Embiid as the stars of the offense. They don't need a lesser offensive star focal point - they need complimentary supporting players like Herro and Martin - to a lesser extent on the bench for one season Batum.
Maybe.... but I think the main concern is keeping Embiid happy, and if they lose Harden and they don't replace him with another star, I think they have to seriously consider shopping Embiid. Is this team a contender? Maxey Herro Martin Harris Embiid I don't think that team is even close to being as good as Boston or Miami (if they had Dame).
Maybe they view it that way or maybe not. If they thought Harden was a real star they would've locked him up long term. They don't view him that way and pushed for him to get on a cheaper expiring contract instead. I'd give that 6ers team you list much higher odds of winning in the playoffs than their current squad. Herro/Martin/Maxey are all in their 20's with upside that Harden doesn't have. They probably still need another addition but they would be one step away instead of currently being 2-3 moves away. Boston/Milwaukee/Miami are all probably above the 6ers now as well as after a trade but its not a huge gap. Any of these teams could easily beat the other next season.
