Nobody has refuted that Dame said he wants to be traded to Miami, and only Miami. Kevin Durant played 39 games for Brooklyn last season. Dame should be expecting the same.
my aliens on Mars conspiracy theory (Cronin may have offered to send Lillard to an even worse team then Portland) didn't relate well on this forum. It fell flat. One of ya'll freaked out and accused me of starting rumors. STOP IT! Its a chat room, were talking Blazers, i'm not posting new threads or hashtagging anything. ... anyways, Whyachi speculation *read at own risk (better ??) What if Blazers FO was not honestly evaluating the team during Lillard's trade meeting? Maybe the managers were pretending like Portland was a spectacular squad that can hang with anyone? The embarrassing losses easily overlapped the impressive victories last year. Implying Portland is not a cellar dwelling tank team is straight up PR stuff. Don't bring that garbage into a tense discussion room with your superstar leader. Lillard was actually on the court trying his best to keep the Blazers from getting hammered.
Did you guys see Dame's interview with Marc Stein today? He says that his loyalty thing is actually, "I have always said I will stay loyal to myself". Aside from being a lie, it's such a stupid comment. Who isn't loyal to themself? I can't believe what a bullshit this guy had become, overnight.
It's actually in the same interview I think as the one posted. But yeah that stuck out to me. Of course you're loyal to yourself. What we loved about him is he was loyal to us. That didn't come across. Had he said "I used to be loyal to Portland and I'm not anymore" I'd understand it and respect that he said it. But implying it just feels weird. Lol. I'm reading way too much into it and I'm an idiot by default sooo...
I don't know, man, that's pretty funny, like something from Dumb and Dumber, or something a toddler might say.
You guys are so silly can you not read between the lines --- the trust he had with the Blazers front office has been broken now how that was broken is up for debate and all but something happened to make him not be loyal. If you really believe Dame has turned into a fake ass PoS or he was full of it all these years then your a clown. Someone might be able to "fake it " for a couple of years or so but eventually fake people slip up and expose themselves. If you really believe Dame is that fake then hell he needs to retire from the NBA and become and actor cause he would for sure win an Oscar if that is true but it's not so screw that noise. Some of you are just looking for a reason to make the fact you have turned YOUR back on him seem right that you will now twist everything he says into justification for your own actions of betrayal and that is sad and pathetic but i guess that would sum up a portion of this forum as of late.
I don't know if I'd put this in such dramatic terms but I think along the same lines. People can say that Dame was dumb for making his demands about adding established all star level talent so public but he got asked about it and wasn't fake, he kept it real. This front office had to know that if they chose to go young again Dame would view that as choosing to not continue on with him. I think that's what Cronin did. Today it was pretty obvious that Dame is not going to talk in depth about this situation. Dame has always been high character and even though I don't appreciate the "Miami or bust" shit, once that loyalty was broken by the front office by continuing to go young after Dame said that would be the same as choosing to go down a different path than he is on... I think Dame's stubbornness makes sense. I don't like it but it makes sense. All of that being said, Cronin shouldn't give a fuck about getting Dame to Miami, he should get him to a team that would give him a chance to win big, whatever team he would make a contender, who has the best offer.
To echo (not quote) what was said on Locked On Blazers by Marang, if a front court player — SF with size (not a SG in disguise), PF, or C — is in a trade package for Lillard … and if that guy is actually a starter who MAY become more … then a trade can get done for Lillard. Brooklyn and Claxton. Toronto and Barnes or Siakam or OG … I don’t care which. Orlando and Franz Wagner … a stretch on just getting Wagner as the guy for frickin’ Lillard! Philly and Tobias Harris …he and Siakam are pushing it on age. A different, youngish front court guy? Sure. I don’t care who is making the case about what it will or SHOULD take for a deal to get done. Miami trade pieces DON’T fit what Portland needs. Jovic is a maybe as a starter. Jaquez? Who knows?! And it’s hard to see Nurkic or Herro bringing in what’s needed. When it’s resolved (Nurkic annd Lillard traded), conservatively speaking … Portland has 2 starters — Simons and Grant — 2 guys who will play starter minutes whether they should be starters yet or not — Scoot and Sharpe — and 5 others who are mostly or entirely forwards — Thybulle, Little, Murray, Walker, and Rupert (2 are ready for real minutes). I like what I can see in these 9 players but don’t expect most all to hit or even stay long term. One real guy in the front court who MAY become much more — that’s what Portland should get or there is no trade.
OK, well just admit that "I have always said I will be loyal to myself" is a flat out lie and 100% in contradiction to what he actually has always professed.
I gotta hand it to ya… I don’t fault people for having an opinion, even if it happens to be wrong, but you’re not just wrong… you’re extremely arrogant while being wrong. It’s an entertaining combination. I regularly guffaw at your posts.
You know Nate -- your right -- I am arrogant but it's because I believe so strongly that I am right but this is pointless cause neither side can really claim to be truly right cause the truth is still a mystery. We have been going around and around and around for a month plus now and where has it gotten us. I come to this forum and I get angry on how fans have turned on the player that is one of the best of all time and without a doubt top 3 and one could argue the top player that has EVER put on a Blazer's jersey. The thing is this has gotten me no where accept me having to down a aspirin or two after reading the crap that some fans want to degrade Dame and bring him down day after day and I am done with it. This forum used to be a place i could be proud of but no more and the inmates are running things and I will take my share of the blame but now I am going to remove myself from this for awhile at least until we get real news. Then I will have to decide after my post reacting to the Dame trade if I want to even stick around anymore cause this is not working anymore. I used to have genuine respect for most of the posters even if I went at them a little but right now I have very little respect for a good portion of you but I cannot respect a fan who would turn there back on a player and make them the bad guy when they gave there heart and soul to the team and the city so that is where I will leave it. Cya all once Dame is traded or some real news happens but til then --- peace out and Go Blazers !!!!!
Jesus. These people that act like a player’s agent is some independent entity and not their representative are so weird to me.
