Meanwhile, there's a prominent RSN that's turning to podcasts to fill content because it's extremely low-cost for them and the only way they can stay afloat.

I think Amazon is doing this simply for the sports. ESPN has the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAFB and BB

I can’t really think of any non sporting event worth watching on ESPN other than maybe NFL live and gameday

That being said, rating are up at ESPN

This is an interesting story because It happened in New Orleans and got reported. Guess that Uber driver posted it online.

The ONLY thing I watch on ESPN on DirecTV is NBA or college hoops and football. Thats it. We have ESPN+ to watch our daughter and her friends play college soccer now and that’s it.

Did he decline or say he is gonna see if everyone is on the same page first? Cause I heard the 2nd one, not the first. I could be late in hearing an official declination.

That's such BS. I am not the biggest fan of Curry, but you can't question his strength and toughness. The guy takes supreme care of his body and you can tell from his shots that he is strong throughout his core.

In general, this whole "it used to be more physical" take is hogwash. Yes, there were greater extremes of physicality, see McHale on Rambis. And yes, more contact was allowed on the perimeter in terms of handchecking. However, when you go back and watch the games play by play it's no more physical than it is now... maybe even less.

What in god’s name is this? You just typed that the game back in the day…..let’s just say from 1983- 1998 was “no more physical” than now? I’m not quite sure how to respond. I’m not sure what you’ve been watching. It was 150% more physical then. PLEASE explain it to me.

Yeah I don't know what to tell you. You're welcome to cling to that old narrative. I've spent the last few years rewatching games from the '80s and '90s. Underrated basketball, but it ain't more physical outside of those occasional splash plays.

    Bruh...

They knocked people to the ground and nothing was called.

You even think about knocking someone down it's 100k and a 4 game suspension.

It's completely changed physically and all the stars are treated vastly different.

I'm surprised you doubled down AFTER watching it, to be honest. It'll never be as physical as it was in the 80s and early 90s.

Ahhhhh yeah. I’ll just leave this one alone then. You typed this TWICE now. So you have watched a Pacers/ Knicks game from 1989 and claim that a Kings/ Suns game from last season was MORE physical? That’s what you’re trying to say?
