Elon Musk Says Napoleon Taught Him How to Motivate ...Inc.comhttps://www.inc.com › jeff-haden › elon-musk-says-napo...
Which may turn out very badly for them, depending on Elon's whims at any given moment. The story isn't over, and it's entirely possible he'll end up a net negative, given his current trajectory. barfo
Pretty sure I said this earlier, but just in case, F' Ealon Musk....and F' Starlink too. He intially promised 300 mbps but that's very misleading because the ONLY way you can get that kind of speed is via an ethernet cable (who the hell still uses an ethernet cable?)...Starlink wifi only delivers about 90-100 mbps...then he arbitrarily raised the price twice within my first 6 months. I'm now getting 800-900 mbps for $30 less per month.....oh, did I already mention?............F' Elon Musk.
Very doubtful. Once the money started flowing from the US to Ukraine Elon just wanted his piece of the action. Elon isn't going to give the US cause to take over Starlink. If he does, the US will just take it over. Elon also wanted plausible deniability so he wasn't targeted by Russia as choosing Ukraine over Russia. They now have an agreement that the US can take control of the network in that region for military purposes. I'm sure Elon is getting his piece of the "action" now. Also very unlikely, IMO. He made electric cars desirable (by bringing together motivated geniuses so he could stand on their shoulders), when the government was being controlled by big oil and Detroit. He also basically made the space economy realistic (again, standing on the shoulders of geniuses to do so, but it never would have happened close to this fast without somebody like him making it possible and pushing for it) also while our government was failing us, also largely due to the influence of large corporations. He made broadband satellite internet (world wide, and even interplanetary) a legitimate business model. While again, our government was bogged down by the concerns and inadequacies of large corporations. His actions have had an immediate impact on lowering the price of lithium batteries, not to mention with ramping up the incentive to come up with newer, better, cheaper and cleaner battery technologies. And there are honestly quite a lot more... He would have to be the central cause of a massive war or mass killing of some kind. Something along the lines of a Stalin or Hitler to overcome the massive benefit he has been to humanity. And I just don't think he has the power to cause that much damage. I'm not a fan of Elon's, but I try to give credit where it's due. He's made some MASSIVE contributions to society (albeit, by standing on the shoulders of geniuses). And he's made an absolute mess of Twitter... Which really doesn't matter. It will be replaced by something better, no doubt.
Every PC in my house is connected to an ethernet cable. It's a far more stable and reliable connection. He promised 300mbps and he delivered on it if you can get that via an ethernet cable. It's satellite internet. It's 100 times better than any other satellite internet option. And FAR more reliable. If you have access to a broadband connection for $30 per month then Starlink was never intended for you. And Elon Musk said as much many times. It's important that we have realistic expectations...
Desktop computers are about the only ones with ethernet ports and their numbers have been shrinking for years...and even fewer laptops even come with ethernet ports anymore, same with tablets and wifi gives me a MUCH better cell phone signal than verizon's tower signal. Learn to read...I never claimed to be getting internet service for $30. ...one more time, F' Elon Musk.
Virtually every laptop that doesn't have an Ethernet port can use a USB to Ethernet adapter. You can be mad at Musk for not delivering something he specifically said he wouldn't deliver if you want. But, the people he was actually targeting are extremely happy and grateful. There is plenty to be pissed off at Musk for. This one is just a misunderstanding on your part.
I have no need for a desktop computer and could care less what kind someone else has. ETHERNET ! ETHERNET !....so says the poster who pretends to have the answer for everything.
Not sure what any of this has to do with anything. I don't have any more of a favorable view on Elon Musk than I have an unfavorable view on Musk. He's a tycoon. Starlink wasn't created for people like you, since you already have access to wired infrastructure. And even if you didn't, you wouldn't need a desktop computer to take advantage of the full speeds Starlink can provide. And while I can't stand Trump or DeSantis, the people who support them support pretty much any rich asshole. Of course they'd like Elon Musk...
Listening to the Ezra Klein Show with guest Katelyn Jetelina who is an epidemiologist and the author of the popular newsletter Your Local Epidemiologist. Studies have shown masks work to varying degrees depending on the area. 9 studies showing between 9% and 40% reduced transmission. Also, studies showed that closing schools did not result in an increase of youth suicides. In fact there was a slight dip in suicides in 2019/2020 and a slight increase after schools opened back up. https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aH...jItY2E2Ny00N2JhLWFmOWMtMTJiZjVlYTZlYzA5?ep=14
Yes, because what is preferable to one, should by default, be preferable by all. Great concept. My apologies...I don't cares to have cables all over my house. I prefer wireless and portability.
