Yes, that may be. But after those 3-4 years of high level production he will have 3 years of reliable old vet and sniper offensive player. This is not his last contract. Just his last huge contract.

When Dame, Nurk, and Jerami played we were over .500. Parity and injuries got us. But add the phenom Scoot and we are unguardable…

I just don't see Scoot, Murray or Rupert wanting to play with Dame for one day, one month, one season let alone four seasons. Dame disrespected them by saying publicly he had no interest in bringing along a 19 year old again. Yes, I realize Murray is 23, but he is a rookie. Everyone knows what Dame meant. I do not buy in to the fantasy that Dame will do a 180 and embrace this team. I don't want him speaking ill to the other teams. His scorched earth stance indicates that is what he would do. Trade him or let him sit on the beach until he is traded.

Last I checked he's still under contract....it's his responsibility to either step up or blow it off...next man up pay wise is Jerami..then Ant..then Nurk...then Matisse. Of that group I'd say Jerami would be the alpha.

Right now I’m hoping Toronto plays themselves into a position where they would bet big on Dame.

Outside of Barnes, who would for sure be in the trade, Achiuwa and Koloko are also interesting players.

Players don't have to be best buddies to win games.

Cronin stacked injury prone players in Portland, then crossed his fingers hoping injury prone players wouldn't get injured. That's bad GM'ing. Maybe bad with a purpose? The #3 pick in the lottery, then scaring the freshly minted supermax contract All-Star into a trade request, only confirms this bad on purpose strategy was successful.

According to the laws of succession, I’m pretty sure that responsibility belongs to Keljin now.

Pretty sure that is not the first impression of the Portland Trailblazers management wants to show Scoot. They may not have to be best buddies, but there has to be respect. Dame did not show respect to the new members of the team. Pretty sure Dame would have some fence mending to do not just with players but the entire organization. He stabbed them in the back with the scorched earth campaign. That is fine. He can stay home if he is not traded by the start of camp. The purpose of a team is that all members are striving for the same goal and sacrifice in various manners to achieve said goal. I do not envision Lillard sacrificing anything for the betterment of the team. It is his way or the highway. Unfortunately the highway Lillard chose is narrow and covered in potholes. He might want to change his route. But I doubt it. I am sure he has cleaned out his locker at the PF. Hell, with the new guys someone new might have his old locker for all we know. I have no idea of course. Plausible though. As he said, he has to be loyal to himself.

Yes. But you never answered my question. What are the assets?

    Are they

    Lowry
    Herro
    Picks (how many? Protected?)

    or

    Jovic
    Jaquez
    Herro
    Picks (how many? Protected?)

Neither are great, but one is better. We have no idea what the offer is

    Not true.
Both CJ and Anfernee Simons measured 6' 2.25" without shoes.
Joe Cronin said Scoot measured 6' 2.5" without shoes.

No, we have no idea what the offer is.
But we know what Miami's assets are, and any offer is limited to that.
Those assets aren't enough to make a deal now.
