Shams -- who carried water for Golden State with GP2 -- and who made the minimal correction to his reporting with zero mea culpa because he did not give a crap that he repeated outright lies and crapped on others' reputations. So now, he carries Miami and Lillard's water. That's a lot of water carrying coincidentally aimed at the Blazers, again. Shams can kick rocks. And Lillard would report to whomever he was traded to. He'd be fortunate to play in a ready made situation with extra forwards and no starting PG. I'm hoping he goes to Toronto or Brooklyn. That's it.
Shams has been making stuff up all summer. This one struck me as a very carefully worded bit of rhetoric from Goodwin because Joe is talking to other GMs now that front offices are clocking in again.
Um, both those places have starting PGs - Toronto's starting PG just won MVP of the World Championship...
I know its not saying much, but he appears more mobile & athletic than Nurk. He will never be a star, but Robinson at least has the potential to be a solid backup center
I'm sorry. Permit me to rephrase that. Brooklyn and Toronto would have two quality forwards for Lillard to lead. He would like that soon enough. Toronto has Dennis Schroder, about to turn 30, who is now on his 6th team on a 2-year contract (a sure sign of great confidence in him), and is (IMHO) a lower level starter who plays decent D. Toronto would love to have an excellent PG. Schroder would be a quality backup PG. Brooklyn has Spencer Dinwiddie. Age 30. Final year of contract. On his 4th team and a 2nd stint with Brooklyn. Traded mid-season two years in a row. Up and down with 3 pointers. Another just okay pro at PG. Not a quality starting PG even when squinting. Yes, both teams have PGs who have had profitable careers, who start at PG, and who can fill the position until their teams are able to replace them. Is each team's greatest weakness at PG? Yes.
Toronto traded their 2024 1st for Poeltl, but put a top 6 protection on it. Raptors need a MEGA TANK. And they hired a rookie head coach. Lillard winning games in Toronto would mess up their future.
They aren't tanking this season. I don't think you keep Siakam if you're tanking and I definitely don't think you sign Poeltl to a 4 year $80M contract so you can tank. They'll be competitive with the roster they have but I also expect them to be interested in upgrading at PG and possibly at SG as well. I think they'll be interested in Herro, I just don't know how much value they'd put on him and I also think they'd be interested in Ant with the same caveat.
If Raptors trade Siakam & OG at deadline, they can go Joe. The league won't enforce tank penalties if you don't have superstars. Cronin wrote the book on modern tank warfare.
Looks like it was just false reporting by Shams that Dame won’t report to camp for anyone other than Portland and Miami like many speculated. Reported by Fentress so take it for what it’s worth.
In other words, Shams was making stuff up yesterday. Or he wasn't making stuff up but Dame's camp realized it would get them in trouble and told Fentress Idk how are you gunna spin that if you're Shams
over the last 3 years, Shams has yanked a bazooka out of his gun cabinet and blown his own credibility away
Too true. Credibility no longer matters. clicks matter. This site from what I have seen, has never stopped reposting someone's sports takes because of their lack of credibility. And that is probably a good indication of what goes on everywhere. As long as folks continue to repost whatever the hell someone sprays out their ***, they will write whatever gets that done.
