Dame is a Blazer. He's under contract for several more years.

Makes no sense to trade him unless we're getting an absolute HAUL.

Marks was on King's staff—assistant GM of the Nets. Eek. Probably even called that sucker in.

The Heat 24 pick cant be obtained without including OKC to change the protections of the Miami 25 pick.

Here is one that fixes that & also keeps Portland out of the tax. It says the trade is not approved due to the Steipen Rule -> but that's not an issue when Miami get's PHX'25 pick.

Nobody is saying Nurk isn't talented. We all have seen him have good games.
The problem is bad Nurk not good Nurk. When he's bad he's really really bad and he takes the whole team with him.
That is what I call a cancer.

Not to mention he can't stay healthy to save his life.

Best offer is four 1sts, two swaps, Jovic, Jaquez and an expiring.

Assuming Miami gets their owed pick back, then 24, 26, 28, and 30 with 2 pick swaps (Blazers' choice) + Jovic + Jaquez + a comparable but better fitting front court player (acquired in Miami's trade of Herro) ... then should the Blazers accept?
Maybe. But since Miami hasn't offered EVERYTHING nor do I expect them to do so ... THEN there is NO Miami trade. Lillard remains a Blazer or he is traded elsewhere.

The original trade of Nurkic to Miami as well? And return Lowry's expiring contract? If you want the Blazers to lose at a historic level, then trading Nurkic without returning an actual, youngish, starting big man fits that plan.

Bad Nurk was when we had Norman Powell.

Good Nurk is when there's energy on the team. Like the 4-game winning streak in February 2022.

Bad Nurk means something's wrong with the team. Bad Nurk means stagnant offense.

How does Brooklyn view Simmons? Could we finagle something from them if we take him? Do they want him gone? Could we get Clowney somehow?

Why do you think its so bad for them?

It really depends upon what they think of Herro and/or Simmons.

    The deal is basically
Herro for Simmons + 1 Phoenix pick

Which is why it is a bad deal for them. Simmons is better than Herro by himself. (or at least many think so ) They are not going to throw in a first-round pick as well.

Nets are keeping their picks. Sean Marks looks like a happy GM with a big bucket of picks. So happy in fact, he gave tank master Trendon Watford a tryout contract.

People talk about "4 first round picks" as being like the holy grail we're seeking, but Jovic and Jaquez were recent 1st round picks. Jovic had a really good showing in the tournament. So how getting two recent 1st round picks + 2 1st round picks different is that than getting 4 picks?

because they were picked by the crummy Heat, not by Joe Cronin and the Portland Trailblazers.

Actually bad Nurk is three games out of four when he is complaining to the refs constantly after missing easy layups while not getting back on defense and then chucking a three with 15 seconds on the clock for the second time down the court. Bad Nurk can’t focus on winning rather than whining. Bad Nurk can’t dunk from mor than two ft away from the basket and doesn’t even do that often.
Give me a hungry young center any day over Nurk. Softest big in the entire league.

Because who was picked at those picks actually matters. If you want to play that game,

Jovic, I’d say most of us would consider a welcomed young addition if a trade happens, so you can count that as a 1st. Jaquez would not have been my pick at the 18th pick—therefore it would be like he was worth no pick at all.
