But in terms of winning immediately with Dame we traded him for nothing. If we're grading the improvement needed from what was on last years squad in order to run it back and contend right now I stand by that we lost Hart for effectively nothing. I'm fine with the Hart trade for rebuilding, yes a pick is likely more valuable. It just has no immediate value to win with Dame as posters are suggesting we could still do right now.
him walking for nothing would have been what I consider "nothing" in return ..as it is Thybulle shot the 3 better and is a two time all nba defender...Hart is not. Knox and Murray are both taller and better suited to SF play than Josh...he just wasn't a good fit at the 3 like Norman Powell wasn't. It was the right move even if you don't like all 3 players we got for him
Your guess isn't possible. Suns can't trade Ayton for Nurkic and Simons unless they send out one of Durant/Beal/Booker. Suns don't have any other contract to trade except Jordan Goodwin at 1.9 million and Toumani Camara at 1.1 million both whom are way too low of salaries to allow them to match Nurkic and Simons for Ayton.
This is what we have figured for months. I suspect that if Miami had put all their chips into the middle, the trade would be done, but they're trying to lowball.
Send us Barnes, send us Dick, send us Koloko, an expiring contract and send Gary to the Nets with the Nets sending us a future first. That's not fair value for Dame but it's a helluva lot of potential value.
We kind of heard similar discussions with Utah and NY last year until abruptly Mitchell was sent to Cleveland. If Toronto is throwing Scottie Barnes out there I might prefer that regardless of anything the Heat even have available to offer; I'd actually move Trent to a 4th team as I don't think he wants to come back here but for the major pieces this trade makes some sense for all 3 teams.
Trent is not worth a 1st. If Joe can get more than Barnes from Toronto then good for him, I'd do the deal without Dick.
Yeah, if we're keeping Gary adding Ayton and Barnes for Dame and Nurk, that's better value than I think we could get from any deal with the Heat, it's still just far from equal value, which is why I would want Dick or picks but not dick pics.
Ayton - Reath - Walker Grant - NAS - Murray Barnes - Thybulle - Rupert Ant - Sharpe Scoot Probably the best hypothetical of a next season rotation I've seen for any post Dame trade roster. I love the upside of holding every lottery chance the Heat have from 2027-2030. But this lineup is way more exciting for right now as well as a couple years as these guys enter their primes.
Let other teams make us an offer we can't refuse. What exactly is Joe's incentive to make.l this his problem? It's not like he's trying to win anytime soon. No good offer, Dame stays. At some point, teams will make a real offer. Trading for Dame means you're in the cusp of a ring and there will be teams who will be in that position. F Miami
There are some people saying that Cronin is supposed to tell Miami (or other teams) exactly what he wants so the deal can get done. That's stupid.
Dude if your in a competitive grad program I believe it but if your taking 15 credits that's like five hours of work five days a week (including homework).
Agreed. There is no reason for Cronin to put a limit on what the Blazers will settle for - then have that negotiated down even further.
