So then let's start Ant over him? Huh? Sharpe has the higher ceiling both offensively and defensively. Long-term, if Ant expects to be a Blazers, it's with him being a super sub coming off the bench. If the idea is to continue to inflate his value, then maybe it's okay to continue to start him before shipping him off for a better fit.
I feel ya, it's difficult at times hearing official "takes" on Sharpe's game. Locked on Blazers guy got Shaedons finger injury wrong, called it a thumb injury. Nope, Shaedon fractured his middle finger on shooting hand, wore a soft cast in games during first 2 months of the season. I think talking Blazers doesn't necessarily mean people watched the games. Here's some stats, let's talk stats. Nevermind the times Billups yanked Shaedon out the game after hitting 3-4 shots in a row instead of keeping him on the court.
I understand not trading for Pascal, we’re on the same boat. But I think OG would be a fine get in a Dame trade. He’s a true SF size player who is great on defense. He’s young enough that a decline shouldn’t happen during the length of his next contract, and that new contract will be expiring or already expired by the time Shae and Scoot are in their rookie extensions.
Agreed. He's still a great defensive player with upside. Whoever thought that all the players need to be in the same age widow to build is not reading how to build teams correctly. If we had Scoot, Shae, OG, ? and Ayton as our starting 5, I would be very happy and think it would be very promising honestly. We need to be in talent acquisition mode.
And your assertion is that Ant is better? Ant is entirely one-dimensional. Good, albeit streaky, shooter. Nothing else. Shae may need to improve on defense but he has more to his game than Ant and much more upside.
it's not my idea, benching Shaedon for maximum Simons p.t. has been dribbling into Blazers podcasts not named Blazers Uprise all summer. yes... Ant extremists have gone as far as trading Shaedon
I say run 4 guards with Jerami. The most important thing is development and chemistry. Winning games might have to take a back seat this season. Scoot Simons Sharpe Thybulle Grant
OG injury history, and upcoming free agency (supermax or worse) greatly concern me. I'd rather have a lesser player and picks. If the idea was to win now with Dame I could be talked into it. Without that, OG just doesn't seem likely to provide value above his costs, in 3 years when Scoot/Sharpe begin to enter their prime.
At which point he’s pretty much an expiring that can be traded. He’s not a make-or-break type of player in a trade, but I do think he provides value. But to your point, those reasons lead me toward Ayton if I had to choose between the two.
Horrible trade for us Dame Nurk Nas For Ayton OG (who could walk away after 1 yr) Jovic Duncan Robinson
Today feels like I’m back in high school and the head cheerleader walks into class. A bit of movement
