Kliishivka is the same; Only those villages east of Kharkiv were spared as Ukraine took them very quickly and drove the russians out of artillery range. There are scores of villages that are destroyed and abandoned all over eastern Ukraine. My guess about reparations is that russians would rather starve than pay them, they will always find ways to bypass sanctions as long as there are companies who put profit first.

Senator Rand Paul has promised to personally block any spending bill that includes aid to Ukraine. Republicans are fucking cowards. Instead of saying outright they prefer Putin to democratic Ukraine, they pretend fiscal responsibility or abortion. They hate democracy in Ukraine or US. They can't put their positions to a vote, they would lose, so they have to restrict voting by citizens and prevent votes in elected legislatures
The majority of Americans are against hemorrhaging more unaccounted for money to the most corrupted government in Europe. Making vague platitudes about “they hate democracy” just harkens back to Bush era neocons trying to manufacture consent for the Iraq war. It’s a really silly and oversimplified justification for attacking those opposed to war.
