Found this on /r/heat Miami, Brooklyn, and Minnesota had an agreement to facilitate the trade with Portland, but they couldn’t make the contracts work due to the money. Now we see constant smoke screens regarding Miami on Twitter via people in the media and it’s pissing Dame off. Now there is possible new agreement with LA involved, but it’s dependent on Minnesota adding another player to the deal. “ but I guess we’ll see.”
Ayton is much better defensively than KAT. Also, better rebounder and inside player altogether. I think he has more room to grow and costs less. My opinion. KAT has his own upside as well.
I predict we will hear this is completed and its a done deal on Tuesday at 224pm pac time. We will have given up Dame, Nurk and little and brought back, Ayton, Og and One top four protected first, a pick swap and a couple seconds from yet unknown teams getting in the mix.
Getting KAT would be like magically converting Damian Lillard into a younger PF/C. That's what KAT is an all offense big man like Dame is an All offense PG, and he's on a massive contract. This alone makes sense given that we just drafted Scoot. But he's been hurt quite a bit the past four years, playing in 35, 74, 50 and and 29 games. His contract also extends into the 1st year when Shadeon may be getting a big pay day. I'd rather get Ayton.
no future cash considerations??? Agreed Ayton is the better option of the two for Portland. Much better defender at half the price. For offensive fit reasons, I do like that both of these guys have an outside threat to pull a Big out of the paint STOMP
