If Hield goes to Miami what goes back to Indy, Duncan Robinson? Can't see Indy wanting that. If not then Blazers have to take Robinson to match salary? Just doesn't make any sense that Heat likely don't have enough to trade for Lillard straight up, but they're going to have enough for BOTH Lillard and Hield...
I assume Herro would go to Indy. For Dame and Hield, Miami would have to empty their coffers completely.
For picks instead could have Indy pick go to Miami for 2025/26 when Miami pick conveys to OKC. Then Miami can send 4 unprotected picks to PDX in 2024 2026 2028 2030 and forget the swaps. Might be simpler than asking OKC to do anything or to do swaps.
Cautiously optimistic. Anything less and I'll be disappointed. And two of the firsts should be unprotected Miami picks in 2028 & 2030.
I actually think this one makes plenty of sense. We don’t really have a need for Jaquez, but he was recently a top 20 pick. If they want Herro, we should require they trade a 1st. Herro is a starting level scorer, one year of Buddy + a backup PG would not be enough. I like this trade. A promising reclamation project, a young guy, a mentor for Scoot, and 4 1sts. Will still be bad enough to get a high pick, and we can still trade Grant or Ant eventually. I’ll take it. Props to you @SharpesTriumph, this is my favorite one thus far.
This dude is positing that Portland is only talking to other teams to gauge interest in Herro. That Dame to Miami will be a done deal. I do not believe that at all. But, serious question, can Cronin, the GM of the Portland Trailblazers shop Tyler Herro around the league even though he is the property of the Miami Heat? If so, what stops a GM from proposing a trade for a player on another team that could create discord if the player found out he was being shopped? All kinds of reasons this should not be allowed. Misrepresentation could be huge. Seems like a tampering issue to me. Can they if the Heat gives Cronin permission? I really do not know, but do find an issue with it.
" If you don't do right by Dame" "Players are going to remember that". This is such a stupid fucking argument and everyone who uses it is a fucking idiot.
I agree that if we do Dame dirty and trade him to some team with no chance of winning then players would remember that... which does have a huge effect on Joe's future, he has to be thinking about life after Jody and the Blazers. Trading Dame to Toronto with Siakam, Barnes, Poeltl, Gary, Shroder, Boucher, McDaniels, Temple, Koloko etc. is definitely not doing wrong by Dame. That team would have to be seen as one of the two favorites in the East along with Milwaukee and the Heat would be far worse than they were last season.
Maybe some of these guys demanding trades now wish their GMs would have not granted their wishes? KD, Harden, etc?? They each shit the bed time and again.
We signed him to a Supermax. That’s what players should remember. Do we really want players that think “if I sign with Portland, they’ll trade me wherever I want whenever I want”?
