OG is better than Herro. Why are we giving up Dick?

Scottie Barnes isn't the 3 pt shooter that OG is, but he's a better creator ... more versatile (likely) and fits the timeline for the Blazers. However, OG is still in line with the timeline, and is at a position of weakness.
Besides being a really good asset, trading Barnes away for Lillard includes a mess of filler -- and guys who can play -- that the Raptors need for depth. With OG, Boucher, and Dick, it's most of the way there.
I like Toronto as a franchise and the fanbase, so Lillard going to a team that would be a contender with him next year? Absolutely. It's doable, and I hope it happens.

It was an exercise to show the difference in value of the Toronto/Miami Dame offers, not to suggest as an actual trade.

This is one way to get it done, but it can't happen till October 4 due to salary constraints and some of the players involved. Because of aprons, the $$ going in and out have to be a specific way for the Suns and the Raptors if I understand correctly.

Think it's a nobrainer for Toronto to deal OG/Trent/Picks for Dame. Risk worth taking for Masai considering Trent/OG upcoming free agency. And add to that the fact that we can potentially get Ayton for effectively just Nurk is too enticing for us, while also allowing us to take back less from the team getting Dame.

The only hurdle will be convincing Dame that this is good for him. And you can tell yourself as much as you want that this doesn't matter... but it does. Cronin has shown repeatedly that he wants to get guys where they will be happy. And Dame should be happy. A lineup of him/Siakam/Barnes/Poeltl can contend in the east. Just how deadset is he on Miami?

Sidebar... I would obviously love Barnes over OG, and even if it makes more bball sense for TOR to prioritize OG with Dame on the roster, I think they would much more readily part with him in a trade.

Fanspo is wrong on Gordons trade eligibility. Its Dec 15.

This might work better. Pacers could move off Buddy after this trade:

Why does Dame need to be convinced it's good for him? He's the one that asked for a trade.

OG, GT, and Boucher is a terrible return for Dame. That is worse than Miami’s offer. Of those 3 teams, we’re the one getting majorly shafted.

But that is not what Portland was getting in that scenario. Instead, they were getting Ayton, OG and Boucher. They become younger, bigger, and better defensively.

Of course, no player would be as good as Dame offensively, but it's not bad.

We are going to get shafted regardless. We aren’t going to get equal value for Dame because he is 33

If we keep Dame and trade young guys like Scoot and Shaedon, we still won’t win a fucking thing because Dame plays too much hero ball and not enough defense. Also, no one is available that can make a massive difference.

If we keep Dame and run it back with our current roster we aren’t winning either.

Time to move on, have a clear fucking plan on the types of players to build around Scoot and Sharpe, start getting those guys and hopefully compete in 2-3 years

The irony if we were to get OG and Ayton. Those are two of the types of players Damian wanted the blazer to acquire in order to make a run. The Blazers would actually have a fair shot to make the playoffs with that roster.

I disagree that it's worse than Miami's offer. As long as you are able to trade GT elsewhere & resign OG - you are golden

TOTALLY agree with this, Dame at 33 and thar HUGE contract simply and logically reduces his value

Get a modest return and rebuild already off to a fairly good start with Scoot and Shae
