I get the feeling theres another darkhorse team that we haven't discussed. Milwaukee. We'd have to send Jrue somewhere else. I think Orlando makes sense there. Thinking of a 4 teamer with Holiday going to ORL, picks and stuff coming to POR. Combine it with the PHX thing and send Ayton to POR with Fultz going to ORL.
If the Cavs had stuffed 10 rookies on the team, then bragged about LeBron winning a championship with all these kids, nobody would have been upset with James' "decision" to get the hell out of Cleveland.
James was a free agent. He didn't sign an extension the summer prior fully knowing what the team was upto.
Anyone else feel like we're just getting dick teased with all these rumors about the Raptors, only to have him dealt to Miami for the same old shit?
Cavs went 61-21 prior to LBJ's decision. A pretty dang good team. Blazers went 33-49 prior to Dame's trade request. Stinking for Scoot Comparing LeBron's decision to Dame's trade request, is putting a 2010 contending NBA team, next to a cellar dwelling 2023 full rebuild effort. People were mad because LeBron screwed the Cavs out of a TON of trade assets. If James wanted out, he could have asked at the trade deadline or season prior. James left Cleveland wallowing in the mud. The Blazers are already wallowing in the mud, telling Lillard to be patient with even deeper mud on the horizon. Lillard asked to be traded, the Blazers will get some picks and future assets after the trade. It's a difficult situation, but not a raging jersey burning party.
According to reports, Bam is half the reason Dame wants Miami. So, if true, ain’t no way Miami is trading Bam for Dame.
setting aside what may or may not tease your dick...yuck buddy... my guess is that Ujiri was only engaged to see if he could steal Dame without giving up either of Barnes or OG
there's Bulls rumors now, the Sixers and Boston ideas never left the table. Suns, Knicks, Laker weirdos get in on the action. Dubs, Thunder, Garland from Cleveland. I think I saw an Orlando podcast talking about Lillard. The rumor mill is grinding. Glad to see other fanbases talking about adding Damian and winning games. Lillard is a very talented and popular player. Lillard is not old and fat, hurt all the time and too expensive. Somebody in mainstream media (Woj) put a Karl Anthony Towns label on Damian Lillard, and has been running it 24/7 all summer. It's not working, many other teams are interested in adding Damian.
i'm not sure why boston or philly rumors have any merit. unless the spurs feel like dropping 3 picks on us for maxey (and morey is posturing that he doesnt want to add picks to maxey/'maxey is untouchable!'), both of those teams' packages don't even stack up with miami's mid offer.
That's why Lillard probably needs to start the season with the Blazers. 1) He'll show he's still playing at a career-high level 2) Some teams will not live up to expectations, and expectations are as high for the whole league as ever 3) Many newly-signed free agents can be traded starting December 15th (something like 75 players) It's the way people are. If they don't think they need something now, they wait. When they find out they're not as good as hoped, and Damian Lillard is available and lighting it up with the Trail Blazers, some GMs will go from not motivated to motivated to inquire about Lillard.
BonesJones drew up a very good 29 squad list of team strategy and trade assets available. We can grumble all day about not getting an amazing trade return for Lillard, but there's 3 important things to look at: A) there's not a Rudy Gobert 6 FRP trade available, the stinky teams are already geared up for development. B) Miami is a mediocre team that made the Finals, because the East Coast choked in the playoffs. The Heat do have young talent/future assets currently on par with other mediocre teams. C) Teams in super duper win-now have trade packages worse then the Heat's. Yes Lillard demanded Miami only, but we haven't seen the trade package. It might be halfway decent when the bomb drops. Cronin had to make some ugly trades to pay off Olshey's credit card debt. But that doesn't mean the Blazers are going to get a bad return for Damian.
I still think the Nets will end up with Dame. Remember, he did mention them as 1 of 2 teams. Marks may have struck out the the three amigos, but no way Dame is going to ask out from there.
the JR podcast told their 17 listeners that they expect Lillard to become the hands down the very best player in the NBA. Then, only then, with Lillard's trade value skyrocketing to the moon, will the Blazers consider trading Damian. it's a big ask, only high BB I.Q. can deliver such an impressive thought process.
Um, have you read any of the reports this summer? Dame and Goodwin are absolutely fucking this team over. LOL wut?!?!
