You keep seeing all the talking heads answering this question and most of them say, "at the end of the day, it will be Miami." 20% of the voters here also apparently feel this way. It's based on absolutely nothing. Multiple reports have said there have been 0 negotiations with them. What is this based on? Do people just think Cronin will end up caving to Dame's demands and take a lesser offer?
just trying to follow through this thought process... And this will make Miami cough up more? Or will it suddenly make the Toronto idea disappear?
I think that Goodwin will be able to either convince Toronto that trading for Dame is not in their best interests, or if Dame isn't going to be a problem in Toronto, will communicate that to Miami to get them to increase their offer if necessary. I'm not saying that it's the most rational frame of mind...just that it's the one I have.
gotcha. i just find it to be a shockingly prevalent feeling by the nba mediasphere. Like the same people that are reporting that Portland/Miami haven't talked since July follow up the message by saying it will still end up being the Heat.
I think it will end up being Miami. They need him the most, even if they don't have the most. It'll be Miami unless another team offers more than Miami can. It'll be hard negotiating, but in the end, Miami will make the best offer they have to until they don't have anything else to throw in but Bam... and they won't offer Bam.
Correct. They will not, IMO. Nurk isn't reliable enough and Dame isn't young enough. *Edit* Miami doesn't have time to wait on that. Bam is reliable. So they can afford to miss Jimmy or Dame a few games here or there. But with Nurk they lose that. They'll likely be missing both Nurk and one of the others.
I voted Brooklyn because thats the package I want the most. I’m very open to a decent multi-team trade with Toronto, OR getting Barnes (duh!). “Anywhere, but Miami!”, is the Mantra
Too busy starting new threads. Can't be bothered by pesky details. https://www.espn.com/blog/new-york/new-jersey-nets/post/_/id/4794/hellobrooklyn
