Just found out last night I'm related to Theodore Roosevelt and in turn Franklin Roosevelt. I'm a descendent of William Alexander Craig of Scotland, who left to Ireland to escape perscution from King James I. William had several children. Many of them left to the states. One son is my line, another son, had a daughter who he had a son, who had a daughter who married a Roosevelt and had a son named Theodore who in turn had a son named Theodore Roosevelt Jr, who became the 26th president of the United States. His distant cousin Franklin later became the 32nd president.
That's a pretty cool thing to learn! My wife has a descendant who came over on the mayflower, and one who signed the Constitution. I had a great great uncle or something or other who played MLB. Yours is cooler
I am a descendant of Sir William Wallace on my grandmothers side. My grandpa used to tease that we were descended from a traitor to England who was hanged, drawn and quartered (all true). I didn't really understand who William Wallace was until I saw the movie Braveheart. So now I tell people that I was descended from Mel Gibson.
