They have too many players, too many picks, they almost made the playoffs last year and should be much better this year with Chet and the rest of their roster maturing. They are a piece away, IMHO, from a deep playoffs run. Time to try and get that with a consolidation trade and remove some of the extra picks.

I think that if the trade goes official as-is, then Jrue can't be delt in an aggregated trade for 2 months per the CBA. I'm guessing they are working the phones trying to get him moved in the main transaction to avoid this?

Would you say yes to THJ, Green, filler, and two unprotected 1sts in ‘26 and ‘28? Obviously, the play here would be the two unprotected 1sts, which could be very valuable in a few years.
I think he makes a ton of sense in San Antonio. Pop loves Jrue from Team USA. Having a solid PG like him can immeasurably help Wemby early in his career. They have ton of tradeable contracts in addition to the following 1st round picks: - all of their own picks - 2024 CHA (prot 1-14 ) - 2024 TOR (prot 1-6) -2025 ATL (unprotected) - 2025 CHI (prot 1-10)
