Yeah, plus I think their picks are gonna suck AND they don’t have a young player like Kuminga or PWill.
Yeah, I'm all about taking on Lonzo's bad contract and getting Pat Williams along with as many FRPs as we can get out of them after getting ours back. Could be one Bulls FRP might even be more.
Bulls only have their 2028 & 2030 first's available and I'd say taking back Ball would be worth a 1st itself Jrue for Ball Williams Drummond Blazers' pick returned 2028 1st (unprotected or maybe top-4 protected) 2029 swap too much? not enough?
I think it’s fair. Obviously I’d like to get three firsts but getting two and a young player is fine.
*N/M, missed our pick included in there. I'd do that. I wish Williams was one year further away from RFA, but I like him a lot, and like his shooting ability at the 4. Ball can be used as a large-ish expiring next offseason combined with picks if there was a star worth gambling for that comes available.
One of the main Bay Area media guys threw some cold water on speculations that the W's would trade for Jrue today. I guess he spoke at length to their new GM Dunleavy yesterday and came away with a no go impression STOMP
I don't think it will be too much given the rumor of what the market looks like, it would be cool if we could get their 2030 pick out of them but that might be too much. Like you said, taking on Ball is probably worth a first and in this market is Jrue worth more than Williams a FRP and a swap? He might be.
Looks like exciting basketball to me. Not certain how you see “ugly” out of the three….and I find it a much bigger gamble thinking more than one of your three picks will even pan out
I like that trade, Williams is precisely the kind of young forward with a lot of upward potential that we should be looking for. I also like getting Drummond to come off the bench for Ayton, we could use his rebounding. I don't know how much the Bulls like Pat Williams or covet Jrue.
The worst thing for a Big Man isn't bad spacing from not enough 3-point shooting. (I think we're stuck in Lillard mode there. He DID need space at the hoop.) It's running the floor or making a move to get open and nobody passes you the ball. Therefore, I think Ben Simmons would be a good fit even with Scoot and Ayton on the floor, both of whom can hit mid-range shots. It's not a 2-man team, and in consideration of all the other players, Simmons will certainly be good for Shaedon Sharpe and the rest. Simmons is a very good lob thrower, while Scoot has yet to do much of that. If people are talking about mentors for Scoot, passing-wise Simmons would be a very good one. It would be an incredible opportunity for a young team to have two passers (Scoot and Simmons) who can make the defense guess until the very last moment. It would certainly be good for Deandre Ayton, a floor-running Big with exceptional hands and finishing ability. I haven't even mentioned Simmons' defense and rebounding. I ask you to watch some of passing and wonder about Simmons having the arsenal of young scorers/shooters of the Trail Blazers.
Quite honestly, that’s probably too much if I was a Bulls fan, but that’s also going to be the asking price seeing the number of teams that are going to want him. It’s all going to come down to whether or not they want to make an all in move. They’re still a first round exit even after their first all in move. But I feel like the Bulls organization always tries to stay relevant, so I wouldn’t put it past them to make a trade like this, even if it’ll be a mistake. PWill Camara 2 unprotected 1sts + our own back 3 unprotected swaps That’s a very decent return for Dame to add to the Ayton, Scoot, Sharpe core with Ant and Grant as high quality pieces as well.
We’re all well aware of Ben’s passing, but what did the statement above have to do with anything? Passing the ball isn’t a skill exclusive to Ben. Scoot supposedly already has talent finding the open man, and some of the offense is already going to be given to Ayton so he’s going to have the ball plenty this season. Ben’s playmaking doesn’t negate the all the reasons he wouldn’t be good for the team. Embiid is a better floor spacer and overall player than Ayton, and they still didn’t work. Guess on what?
Adding Ben would be like doing what Skip Bayless is doing in this video. It’s about building a team. Ben is just a flashy name.
This was a good watch. Very professional. The Kings deal he served up I would run with in a heart beat!
