Either you never seen the guy play or if we do get him you will be the first person complain about him.
Is Jovic really 240 lbs? I don't believe it, maybe 220 max. I am curious to know. https://news.yahoo.com/nikola-jovic-see-heat-next-233600208.html
Based on what we know right now, this is how I’d want the rotation, with minute distributions for our top 5 players: Scoot (32)/Ant (16)/Mays Ant (18)/Shae (20)/Thybulle Shae (12)/Thybulle/Murray Grant (32)/Walker/Murray DA (34)/Brown/Badji There is lowkey enough talent to actually compete for a playoff spot even before any Holiday trade. If a trade with Boston happens, it’ll be guys like Williams or Horford. If a trade with the Clips happen, it might be Batum. If we make the playoffs with this year’s roster, I’m going to be a lot happier knowing that we have the future of two teams’ 1sts + my own to find the best fit to set this young roster over the top.
This starting lineup is a bit soft on defense. I would start Thybulle next to Scoot and Ant and bring Shae off the bench.
Also, don't you guys wish we re-signed Justice Winslow? He's still fairly young but more experienced than Walker and he can give us I think better defense from the backup 4. I understand that some here believe in Jabari Walker getting much more playing time, but I think he's not as good as Winslow.
This is a few days too early because I am hoping for a starting forward in return for Jrue But I am bored so here goes: Scoot /Ant Shae/Ant Thybulle/Knox Grant /Walker/Murray DA (34)/Brown/Badji
Personally, I’m actually am over-the-moon that he isn’t here anymore. “Experience” doesn’t mean anything. I still remember some doofus here still saying when we had an early winning streak, “JJJ - Jerami Josh Justise. You trade one of them, you trade the soul of this team.” The kind of hyperbole in this fanbase… He’s a decent defender and can handle the ball, cool. I have to grimace every time he jacks up a nasty looking 3, he’s never healthy, and there’s going to be a better player than Justise that comes back to us as just filler from a Holiday trade.
Chauncey could always insert Thybulle for Shae in the starting lineup later in the season, but there’s no reason to do so unless Shae shows us he isn’t strong enough to guard 3s. The good thing about having Thybulle off the bench is that he can slide in for whichever one is struggling. I’m not against starting him over Sharpe either though— Scoot + Ant + Thybulle + Grant + Ayton sounds like it could hold up defensively. If Thybulle kept his pace on his 3 from last season, then it’s a no brainer. Shae could go try to have a 6MOY campaign.
tbf, for last season—they weren’t wrong. when things were going well last season those three were balling out.
What about when things weren’t? I had never seen as many people defending a .40/.27/.70 guy on this team in my life.
Because he was there for defensive purposes, and he wasn't completely killing our offense, didn't try to force anything, took his shots in rhythm and missed most of them but he isn't about making shots
He was an interesting 11th or 12th man. Could play a nice role in certain situations or to fill in parts of an 82 game season. But he couldn't be played for every opponent or even matchup. Now that he's still recovering from a major surgery it's ridiculous to talk about giving him a contract. He needs to prove he's 100% healthy in training camp, summer league, or G league first.
Don't bench Sharpe !! The kid needs reps with Scoot. Shaedon got benched soo much last season because he was "inexperienced". Give Sharpe the experience! We know what Matisse can bring. He's a plug & play defensive menace. Put him in a 6th man role. Play Thybulle at the 4 in small ball fast paced lineups. Shaedon needs p.t. He absolutely should be a starter. When the game gets going and Chauncey gets into "let's win this" mode, Coach sometimes forgets there's a super explosive youngster named Sharpe on the bench who makes top 10 highlights every week. I'm not saying Shaedon should play 40 minutes a night. Splitting Thybulle and Shaedon's minutes at 24 a piece is not optimum during this rebuild. I think they both need 30m at least to develop chemistry. What I'm saying is Shaedon should be a starter and a closer. The Blazers have a forgetful Coach that tends yank reserve players out the game without hesitation.
This is assuming we just get picks and expirings for Jrue. Scoot(32)/Ant(16) Shae(32)/Ant(16) Matisse(25)/Knox(15)/Kris(8) Jerami(36)/Kris(6)/Jabari(6) Ayton(32)/Moses(16)
