Holy shit! Are there any Cronin haters left? Just wait until we complete the trades which might include: Brogdon (a near certainty and probably worth a 1st), Timelord (with his injury history we might want to move on from him and see if we can get a pick or youth and a 2nd), Jerami Grant, and the final Olshey hold over, Simons.

Right now, Trader Joe is looking like a god damn legend around these parts, and he's now IMO the best GM we've had since Trader Bob and it's really not close. I'm so stoked to see this new team next year and the best part is Joe washed away my Dame pain by sending him to play with Giannis, something I've wanted since the Giannis draft where I famously had a meltdown on BE when we took CJ instead. This is like a peek into the alternate timeline where we drafted Giannis, sucks it on the Bucks but they are kinda like Portland East so I can and will cheer for them next year.

Then you see how he has completely cleared the decks, added length, youth and stacked talent and assets to the ceiling. I for one love me some Trader Joe. How are y'all feeling after his most recent stooge slapping of the ECF and especially Cryami who is now so utterly blocked, I can only imagine the depth of the despair and/or adamantite denial of that fan base. It's just so glorious!

yeah MIA fans thought he would get shit for Jrue. They aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. MIA is fucked and I love every goddamn minute of it.

I love it too, we ABSOLUTELY dropped Mjolnir on Miami with these two trades. Butler is gonna leave Miami next summer to ring chase. That franchise is done for the next few seasons. I love it!

For a fanbase that routinely never shows up to games, they do show up when they expect something to be handed to them.

I had no respect for them before, and now I just point and laugh at them.

Cronin said "tearing down a team is easy". He was being nice, because Olshey's dream team was lopsided and in danger of collapse. Had to carefully remove small portions at a time to avoid a catastrophic failure.

In all honesty, who actually hated Joe? He landed in a tough ass position and needed time to dig himself and the club out. Why would a person with common sense who knows how the league actually works hate this dude without giving him ample time to turn things around. Or maybe people on here were freaking out too soon without giving the dude a chance too shine….. imagine that. If you tossed hate his way in the past without really stepping back and taking a look at the situation properly, today you aren’t allowed to celebrate.

No different than the clowns on here who in a game thread blast Dame for his shot selection in the first quarter, then pump him up when he hits the game winner. Go somewhere else.

Lot of MIA fans are giving him props now though it looks like. A lot of “he’s still an asshole, but he obviously did the right move” and stuff along those lines lol.

Why the fuck would I grade Cronin higher because of how it affects Miami? I don't give a fuck about Miami. It's meaningless bullshit to me. Giving Cronin a ton of credit for getting back a return on Dame isn't something I am going to do. He didn't DO ANYTHING to create the value that DAME created.

Portland should NOW trade with Miami for a distant pick … when they suck. Brogdon and Williams for Lowry!

I still think it was kinda lame how he kept saying he was trying to build around Dame when anyone watching could see that he was rebuilding. But the actual moves he's made have been pretty good.

False. You’re right, no one really actually “hated” Cronin. But you’re wrong to think someone like me can’t celebrate a day like this. Heat fans are on Pat’s head for the results of this offseason. It’s all about what have you done for me lately, and Joe hadn’t done shit.

If Cronin comes out with all of this after a Dame deal and stinks it up for the next 2 years, I will have every right to both criticize him for it and still celebrate the Dame deal.

With all due respect, this was a stupid point.

Hate or Haters was never accurate. Enough said on that.
He has done a good job for where the Blazers are, now … and he’s not done.
    Get ‘er done Trader Joe.

i said a few wonky things about Cronin, but only because I didn't want to see Damian traded to a crummy team for extra picks. While the entire summer became "trade Dame wherever we want to", I got a bit frustrated about the notion of doing Dame dirty because he demanded a trade to Miami.

Once I finally saw the end result, which was a true level of respect for the GOAT Blazer. Trading Lillard to a Milwaukee Bucks team that is super duper good, eases my mind with the Blazers moving forward under Cronin management. Joe is not a stone cold assassin, he does have a heart.

Cronin blew up a roster with a top 10 player at his peak performance and got a return for that top 10 player. Who is to say Olshey or any other GM wouldn't be able to successfully maneuver such a scenario? Also, I don't like Cronin. He's a fucking liar and he blows smoke and for some reason he's endearing to people. Give me Olshey every day in terms of personality. I hate this BS reverence for someone like Cronin who alienated one of my favorite players of all-time in any sport.

:biglaugh: this sentiment is hilarious and seemingly lacks basic understanding of GM speak -- I suppose it's to be expected when you're stuck in the stage 2 anger phase of grief :dunno: sorry for your loss :sigh:
