We had John Nash as a GM, so I’ve seen the bottom of the well. Admittedly, I thought Cronin was that level. Given what has transpired this past week, he’s above John Nash. While I am not a believer, he’s earned more time. Looking at his entire time as GM, he’s had to unload a tangled and mangled pile of shit. And I like our current pathway.
Jody Allen gets some love too. The lady is always at games even during tanks, fired Olshey, trusted Cronin, has gotten blazers started on a very solid start to the rebuild, I really don’t get the hate for this lady. Seems like she just lets the basketball people do their thing.
I’ll give Jody love when she finally sells the team, and to someone respectable and that will keep in Portland without worry, like Phil Knight.
I literally thought I was reading a diss on Neil when I read this line: “He's a fucking liar and he blows smoke and for some reason he's endearing to people.” Ooooooohh, the irony.
This is what "Trader Bob" Whitsitt got for Clyde Drexler, after waiting until February 14th to make the trade: The Houston Rockets acquire Clyde Drexler and Tracy Murray from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for: Otis Thorpe, Marcelo Nicola, and a first-round draft pick (which became Randolph Childress).
Well, as to injuries, I am hoping we trade Timelord (only really bad injury concern), Brogdon and (not that he's injured but) Grant. I'm also in the trade Simons camp. I want to acquire young forwards, and barring that, more picks.
Holy shit! WTAF?! It was Olshey who screwed the pooch, not Cronin! Cronin traded for Grant when we would have preferred picks. Cronin re-signed Grant (mere minutes before Dame made his demand) and traded for GPII, both moves that make zero sense if he was trying to tear down the team. It was Olshey who shit the bed, Cronin has been an absolute beast other than the Roco/Norm trade and even that looks more reasonable by the day, and was almost certainly a tax dodge that Jody and the Vulcans pushed him into. Man, Cronin got us a screaming deal for Lillard that gets better by the day, this despite unrelenting pressure from Dame, Goodwin, the Miami FO and media. What a ludicrous take, and blaming Cronin while liking "Olshey's personality" do you work in the used car sales business da fuq?!
