Former president Carter celebrated his 99th birthday yesterday with Rosalynn, his wife of more than 70 years, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Carter beat cancer at 90 and learned to walk with artificial hip at 94. In honor of the occasion, 99 new Americans took oath of citizenship at Carter Center. In separate concerts, Indigo Girls and Peter Gabriel led crowd in singing happy birthday.
