Didn't think this guy was ever a throwin; I think Blazers insisted he be in the deal.

He was needed to match salaries, and he was the cheapest salary.

That was part of the Porzingis trade, right? Or supposed to be.

That hypothetical doesn't make sense. At that point, he would not have had the college career under his belt, and he was an undersized shooting guard that was #39 overall coming out of high school. What team would have ever picked him in the first round?

When the Blazers pickd him, he was much more developed as a player because he was almost 22, and he still was a late first rounder... why? Because while he was productive in college, he didn't have the upside of someone like, say, Anfernee Simons who was picked in the 20's several years later as a teenager.

I mean his NBA career would have been the same because his ceiling is his ceiling whether he’s 19 or 22. Do you think Dame would have been better if he’d been drafted at 19 years old?

He would have had a higher ceiling relative to where he was drafted because (a) probably not as good a basketball player at 19 as he was at 22 so his net present value would have been based more on future value (and ceiling) than what he was capable immediately after being drafted, and (b) he would have gone later in the draft. Compared to the 22 year olds that would have been available when he would have been drafted, he ABSOLUTELY would have had a higher ceiling than those older guys (like Nolan Smith) who may have been drafted around there... if those players were three years more mature, three years more of college AND had as much potential for growth as he did, they wouldn't have slid to the spot where a hypothetical teenage Dame would have been drafted.

I listened to a Suns beat writer talking about how bummed they are to lose Camara in the trade. I think this kid might have flown under the radar in the draft. From what I've seen he's a two way player who love defense.

Here is some more reading on the topic: https://www.libertyballers.com/2016/4/13/11376588/nba-draft-age-star-superstar-draft-analysis

It was written in 2016, so after my (painfully obvious) criticism of Smith in 2011 but still presumably relevant.

Sam Mitchell during a summer league game, commenting on Camara: " Frank Vogel is going to love this young man."

I think Brogdon is happy to be out of the situation in Boston where he wasn't going to get a chance to be the starting point guard.

I also think Cronin has earned some cachet with both players and GMs and Brogdon is optimistic about where he'll end up eventually.

Four out of five players surveyed recommend Cronin.

Mine too. Not exactly sure why...I just have this feeling that he has the right combination of size and athleticism.
