Can't compete with cable, who make money on subscriptions as well as advertisements.

Things change. Of course, cable is dealing with the changing landscape of cord cutting now...

And your friends couldn't use it after you borrowed it, until you returned it. Correct?

The parent company I work for (Gray TV) is spearheading this in PHX and they just so happen to also own KPTV.

Welp, My DirecTV Stream package just went up 9 bucks a month. At this point I'd be cheaper to go back to Comcast :(

I'm mentally ready to use A VPN and nba league pass. Any tips would be appreciated.

I would wait until after the season starts. I have heard some people say that the NBA finally got wise and it doesn’t work anymore. I want to wait and see if it’s working before I pay money.

I may try this as well. If it's not too much of a hassle.

It worked really well for me with MLB.tv this last season. Does anyone know if the same functionality will work with league pass? I already have the VPN setup on my router, but is there a smartTV app that you use or something?

I'll likely be doing this as well if there are too many hoops for league pass

It's been working great for college football...

MLB got wise, my VPN worked for Mariners games and their At bat app, then about half way through the season it just stopped working.

Hmm, mine kept working. My problem was that the locations I set up were often California and Texas so the division games were still blackouts for me until I logged back into my router and set up a different VPN domain. Kind of onerous. There were hard blackouts when games were on Apple TV and Fox sometimes though, iirc. With leaguepass being even stricter, I doubt I'll be subscribing. Buffstream on my smartTV's browser is probably how I'll be watching the trailblazers this year.

Which VPN had you been using at the time?
