[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Stop the Vinsanity, Netsposted: Monday, April 24, 2006 | FeedbackVince Carter is one of the most exciting players in the NBA -- perhaps numero uno in that category. But the Nets cannot morph into The Vince Carter Show against the Pacers.A more balanced offensive attack in Sunday's Game 1, and the Nets are looking at a 1-0 lead instead of a 0-1 deficit entering Tuesday's must-win game in Jersey.Even when the Nets were merely a three-headed monster, it was wise to stay balanced, but now that Nenad Krstic has given them a fourth dangerous scorer, they need to make sure to share the wealth.I'll admit that I liked Vince's aggressiveness. He needs to keep that "I-Must-Break-You" mind-set throughout the playoffs. But he shouldn't shoot three times as many shots as Richard Jefferson unless he's hitting about 60 percent of them.Jefferson's ability to average 20 points while having hardly any plays run for him is one big reason he and Vince are able to play together. RJ is one of the most efficient scorers in the league -- he scored 19 on 11 shots in Game 1 -- but by purposely getting him more involved, the Nets can easily run past Indiana.Krstic also needs more touches. On the surface, his 15 shots (9 makes) on Sunday look like a lot for him. But with Jermaine O'Neal out with foul trouble for most of the first three quarters -- and then with O'Neal playing with fouls 4 and 5 in the fourth -- the Nets should have pounded the ball in to Krstic.Krstic was pretty much unstoppable when he got the rock, scoring 22 points against O'Neal and Jeff Foster. Foster was basically dumbfounded by how much better the Nets' center has gotten over the course of the season.Krstic averaged only 11 points on 41 percent shooting against Indiana in the regular season, but Sunday, Foster actually mentioned him and Hakeem Olajuwon in the same breath."In the first half, it seemed like Jason Kidd would just penetrate and kick it to him and he'd knocked down the jump shot,'' Foster said after Game 1. "Then, in the second half, he went in the post and showed what he had in there. One time he shook me with something that reminded me of one of Dream's moves. He spun baseline, used an up-fake and then came back around the other side and scored. I said to him, 'That's the best move you've made on me in two years.'"Any Nets fan should want to see more of that. To me, this is where coach Lawrence Frank comes in. Sometimes, he has a tendency to feed, feed, feed Vince at the expense of the rest of his club. It's tempting, considering Vince's otherworldly talent, but when Krstic clearly has it going and RJ is a 50 percent shooter, Frank has to make sure their numbers are called, as well.It may mean letting Kidd run the half-court offense more. If you haven't noticed, Vince and RJ initiate the half-court set a lot. That's worked all year, so I'm not being too critical. But if the ball movement and motion bogs down, you can just hand it back to Kidd and let him get everyone involved. Now, if Vince is 20-of-33 instead of 12-of-33, I've got no problem with his taking over. But when nothing's falling for him, the Nets have too much talent elsewhere to simply stand around and pray he catches fire.</div>

thanks mani totally agree...carter is awesome, but he would be even better if krstic got the ball more because the pacers started doubling KRSTIC while he wasbeing guarded by Oneal...RJ is getting more touches in game 2, (17 shots i believe) and krstic has about 24 points, and like 11 boards
