Well billups should make sure Ayton gets more then 6 shots. This why we draft scoot for the reason he supposed to get others involved 4 assists is not the answer. The other person needs to step up is Sharpe is not shooting ball really well so far.

Going to be interesting to watch Ayton over the course of a season.

no shit. but as a glue guy who just needs to hit cutters from 15 feet out, he's gonna be a better fit for them than DA.

I want him to get the ball more. Be more active. Box out. Dominate.

Hard to come to any conclusions with that game given the strength of PHX offense, but if other teams move the ball even half as decent as PHX did in the late 2nd, our defense is gonna get demolished.

    Rotations were awful.

If this is the Ayton the team is getting, it'll probably end up being an anchor of a contract.

Hopefully it's just more about the team seeing what they can get out of other players, since they should know what they should get out of him already.

Ayton talks a big game, hope he actually backs it up. He should be 20/10 on this team.

Hard to be 20/10 when you take 6 shots.

missed most of the game but I liked what I saw with Rupert. Seems like he can stay in front of his guy pretty well.

ya some of these critiques of DA are baffling and reek of just box score commentary. dude hardly got the ball on the block and whenever he was the roll guy on P&Rs, the guard chucked. not sure what they're expecting him to do in that role.

our guards (Ant especially) needs to make a concerted effort to involve him. otherwise, it was a pointless trade for us.

I still think that Aytons #'s were what they are because like summer league, the team is highlighting the talents of wings and guards right now.

That could also just be wishful thinking on my part.

The problem is that centers are archaic. At least the old way of playing. Jokic is out on the perimeter. Having a dude demand touches down in the paint is just not the thing anymore. Feeding a big man on the block is slow and defies analytics.

Ayton is an absolutely elite finisher in the paint. P&R needs to be a staple in our half court offense. Let's see how long it takes Chauncey to figure that out. You'd think Scoot/Ayton would be our primary two man action, but we seem hellbent on letting Ant create, and he elects to shoot more often than pass.

I hope they start doing lobs, since they've been talking about that being done more now.
