    4K HDMI Cable 150FT - https://a.co/d/cQsKwCK

USB Extender Up to 150ft https://a.co/d/cAnBV4e

Or if you have a fire stick or android tv adapter there's an even easier solution.

But casting to your TV from your phone is probably the easiest.

If you don't have an Android TV or a fire stick you can get this from Walmart for $20. Works incredibly well.

    great info!

something we have discovered over the last few years buying tvs, that people should be aware of.:
Tvs will boycott apps based on mfg competition/contract negotiations
For example. We bought a google tv for downstairs. But when we first bought it, it would not allow the dstream app to be installed directly on it. So we had to get a firestick for that tv. The firestick wireless stream speed is much slower than the tv, to the point watching was almost unbearable. Constant freezes. Rewind not worming right, etc.
So we were about to buy a different tv and then my nephew came to stay and i took that fire stick upstairs for him.
When i did, i found out i was then able to get the dstream app onto the tv directly, likely due to contract negotiations agreements. Now it works great.

    Point is two fold:

Firesticks have crappy wireless speeds or range, so be aware.

Research the tv before you buy to ensure the apps you want can be installed directly.

Something to also try out is with most PCs and latest TVs is you don’t need HDMI or USB cables, just go to your display settings and connect to wireless display and use your home Wi-Fi. Cut the cord.

I have a fire stick in my bedroom. It works just fine. Never have issues.

Same level though. Ours work fine on the same level. But the Tvs upstairs and downstairs run smoother on the wifi then when we use a firestick. The firestick slows down, which i assume is because the range is shorter or signal capture is not as good as the tvs themselves.

Good point. I wouldn't buy an expensive TV counting on apps. If you can't use a PC I would use the Onn 4k for a $20 cheap option (if you're kind of technical) or I'd buy the Nvidia Shield ($200) for an expensive option. A mid option would be the Fire Cube (around $100).

But you can buy quality used PCs on Amazon for $200-$300 and send them back if they don't work.

I personally prefer the PC option, but I use the cheaper Onn 4k in my bedroom. Once set up it works incredibly well.

You should probably install a hard wired mesh wifi system with at least two routers evenly spaced in your house (or one near each tv).

    ASUS ZenWiFi AX6600 Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 6 System (XT8 2PK) - Whole Home Coverage up to 5500 sq.ft

Or just eero if you prefer, but eero isn't quite as fast.

this home is 100years old. To get a line to the basement… will not be easy.

i think part of my issues is all solid wood and concrete. Signal doesnt travel through my walls/floor as easily as todays prefab pressboard homes.

Maybe put the upstairs router directly above the downstairs TV?

If that doesn't work you could try an "Ethernet Over Power" adapter
TP-Link AV2000 Powerline Adapter - 2 Gigabit Ports, Ethernet Over Power, Plug&Play, Power Saving, 2x2 MIMO, Noise Filtering, Extra Power Socket for other Devices, Ideal for Gaming (TL-PA9020P KIT) https://a.co/d/ejSoMgl

oh man i appreciate the advice, but this is one wild house with several additions. The only places to get the line to the main floor is through one of the additions that doesn't have a basement. The electrical has been tapped and spliced with each addition.
its a mess. We dont have an issue anymore though because the tv now allows the dstream app so we no longer need the firestick. The tv pulls great wireless signals. Full bars.

So let me get this straight

xfinity removes root sports from my current tv package, so they're reducing my RSN fee. it doesn't say how much, but until the reduction goes into effect, i am getting a $7.95 credit

then to add back root sports, they were charging a lot more (i forgot what the $$ amount was) but due to backlash they're offering $5/month for 6 months to add root sports back

so in theory, the RSN fee reduction pretty much will likely offset the promotional $5/month for 6 months to add root sports back

in other words, my bill would be about the same if i add root sports back

by the time the promo period is over, season will be over, and i can cancel xfinity

    Am I understanding this right?

Maybe, but after 6 months I wouldn't want to see that bill. Gonna go from $5 to $40-$50 extra probably. It might be if you add it back on, they remove that credit because you are getting it again.

They realize everyone is jumping ship and leaving for streaming and are trying to save face. I say leave anyway.

That's the boat I'm in. I have to figure out VPN. I already have league pass.

My struggle with VPN is my smart samsung tv don't locally support the nba app so I had to download it within roku. But i cant install vpn directly to my tv so i have to install in on my router. But my google nest router is not vpn compatible. FML. .lol

I thought people were saying VPN's didn't work with league pass anymore?

It's easier for local Blazer fans to watch pirate streams than pay to watch the team.

natebishop is able to do it using surfshark vpn. he did elaborate the steps he had to do in another post.

if natebishop sees this message, question, how did you install your surfshark vpn? directly to your tv or via router?

Either way you will have to pay the early termination fee to get out of the contract.
