Sounds like he was hearing voices and was actually committed to a mental institution over the summer, then got out. He thought the bowling alley owner was spreading some sexual rumors about him or something. This is a social problem, IMO. And it won't get better until we address it like one.
Making any assumptions about a motive and what he "thought" seems a bit premature to me, since he's still on the run..
His prayers aren't going to change anything. Of course he's not taking questions. The republicans in Congress want to pretend this didn't happen.
