He had 20 attempts twice, and 18 twice. He’s had 17 twice previously https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/damian-lillard-career-high-free-throw-attempts
You said (And I quote) Then he was used in multiple ways to defeat one of the best teams in the league scoring 39 points with 8 rebounds 4 assists all while shooting 17 of 17 from the free throw line in just over 37 mins. he did this from what i counted was 6 or 7 different looks with multiple screeners and on course vintage Dame time create his own space three that pretty much sealed the victory as well as the last driving layup that he was fouled on to ice the game at the free throw line. I would assume from this game that they do indeed have an idea how to use Dame and from what i watched he was much more effective with the ball in his hands. I never once got the feel that it was anything at all like watching Scoot last night. Thus the statement " This aged well".
This is a very long way of saying “Nyah Nyah Nyah you were wrong neener neener neener” but it isn’t any nicer.
So he didn't say he wanted to win a championship here? We can do this all night but I will not. So lets just leave it at that shall we?
And yet, after I made that post, they kept making the same stupid mistake. He wouldn't have had to DO all that heroics if they hadn't kept making the same stupid mistake over and over again. Their offense plays better with Dame on the ball. Period. Having Middleton bring the ball up, or Giannis bring the ball up, is.... to put it plainly.... stupid. Hopefully they learned that.
I'm only replying to this cause Aldo liked it and I laugh because this is what he's wanted for years and now he's gonna bitch about this. Lmaaaao.
But you said I was taking someone else's word. I took his. He asked out. Now he's gone. Move on. Or continue to complain I guess.
I was just reading posts on Twitter and it's crazy. The entire NBA fanbase watched him light up the Sixers and they seem to be really happy he did.
Now that every journalist isnt begging him to leave Portland every second he’s on camera (like they’ve been doing since 2020) they can focus on giving him a bunch of great press.
No you don't get to change the conversation. My original statement was about watching youngsters lose. We don't get to move on from that. This is what you originally confronted me about. I do not and have never felt they needed to tank. That has been my stance for years. The unwillingness of this franchise after Paul Allen passed away to spend the money to win has been well documented. That was not a comment about dame leaving or not. You made that not I.
Dame in the 1st and 3rd quarters - 8 points off 2-6 shooting, 3 assists, 4 rebounds, 4-4 from the line. Dame in the 2nd and 4th quarters - 31 points off 7-14 shooting, 1 assist, 4 boards, 13-13 from the line. They had Dame largely playing off the ball in the 1st and 3rd quarters. They had Dame being Dame in the 2nd and 4th quarters. Dame needs the ball in his hands.
Did you notice that Philly went on a run during those stretches? Did you notice that they very nearly lost the game?
I'm not sure why you're fixated on the money aspect. We had one of the highest salaries in the league for many years. It wasn't about spending money. It was about our GM's unwillingness to move on from "his guys." There are reports that we could have had Paul George for CJ back in the day. Or Jimmy Butler. It was Neil's hubris that cost us and Dame a chance at contending. Money had absolutely nothing to do with it.
But this is where we're at. The person who is at fault is no longer here and pretty much everyone is happy about that. I think I get the point you're trying to make but I don't know who you're trying to make it to...
