was that a rookie Embiid out for season Sixers team? Without looking, I doubt that was a max salary team with a bunch of pros. If this Blazers team can't win 10 games, then the "replace Billups" thread will become a hot topic.
It was the 72-73 sixers. A couple years before losing to the greatest NBA team in the world in the 1977 finals. I think people here would be alright with making the finals in 5 years given the current situation.
I initially voted for not this season. We should get one of the two games against Memphis we have at home though. If not, it could be awhile.
I didn't vote for tomorrow, but it was my second pick. Sixers are on the second night of a back to back.
The Pistons have a complete starting five that plays defense and has enough shooters to space the floor. They have 2-3 reliable scorers. They honestly look like a playoff team and remind me of those late 2000s Portland or Seattle/OKC teams, just brimming with youth and potential. Because of this, I also don't know that Scoot will be able to finally break out against a strong defensive team in Detroit. They have Ausar, Stew, and Duren clogging up the paint and hounding people who try to get through. In that sense, I don't see Portland winning. Furthermore, a 20+ win season means the Blazers win closer to 25% of the games. I'd expect the W against the fourth team here, via Memphis, rather than against the Pistons.
I'm getting a historically bad vibe from this team. And I was optimistic going into this season. I just didn't anticipate how bad the team would be as a whole...I also thought Scoot was going to be much better.
Just like Canadian money, Canadian wins only count for 2/3rds of an American win so it doesn't really count.
