The sports journalists whose articles we all read and discuss? Yeah, I don’t know, man.

Scoot is struggling and journalists have to do their job and ask/talk about it. Just because he’s a nice kid doesn’t mean he gets a pass, which is what makes guys like Casey unique. And that was my point: Casey is nice.

I like Grant, but it is yet another case where players are asked to do more than they should. Grant is a better ball handler than I first thought, and can attack the basket if the other team is not ready for it, but his 4 turnovers were frustrating to watch. He should not be dribbling into traffic. Unfortunately with Ant out we need him to create his shot. He is solid against his man, but when there is another pair of hands reaching in......bad things happen. Overall though he had a good game.

I am not terribly excited to see Grant and Brogdon shoot 39 of our 85 shots, as I'd rather lose or have the younger guys carry us to a win, but it's how the team is built (especially with Simons out).

If I were a Raptors fan, I'd be a bit worried... they lost their PG, brought in Schroder, but otherwise have about the same team that finished .500 last year, and lose at home to a Blazers team that stunk last year and traded a future HoFer. The Raptors' refusal to trade their core guys continues to catch up to them.

“Carry on” is a pretty cool thing to say.

Not to be argumentative, but who is putting unreal expectations on him? Scoot’s was the 3rd pick and talks a pretty big game. If anything he’s the one that built things up—him and his fans… are they the idiotic ones?

Scoot is one of the best defenders on the team and is making 54% of his 2pt shots. His shooting form looks good and he's making 3s in practice.

Once he starts making 3s in games (and he will) it'll be game over.

Agree, I am not too worried about his stats long term. I remember the beginning of CJ's 2nd year (after he was injured his rookie year) and he started off the season with a horrible shooting percentage from 3pt. A few on this board used those early stats to argue he would never be a good 3 pt shooter. He ended up the year just under 40% from deep. And CJ was 23 at the time not 19. So my point is looking at Scoot's stats right now tells us only one thing....he sucks at shooting the 3 ball at this point in time. It tells us nothing about how he will eventually shoot it.

Look at Kyle Lowry as an example, In his first 5 years (not counting his first year when he only played 10 games) he shot the 3-ball around 26 %. Last year he shot over 40%. Hopefully, Scoots develops sooner than that but looking at a young player's 3-point shooting stats is useless when trying to project how good he can be at it.

I don't think we need a dance party thread after every win, but dammit, I feel like Dancing!
