You know who else shot a lot of finger rolls …Drexler, Ice Man and others who could jump out of the gym.

Honestly I think Ant taking Brogdons roll next year might work. Ant can take all the shots he wants in 2nd unit while giving us a 3pt shooter

I appreciate his calm demeanor. He's the perfect contrast to a hyper aggressive Scoot. Honestly, just think he's too naiive to understand the magnitude of the moment and he simply goes about his business. Chauncey was saying last yr he had no clue who his opponents were.

Also love that we have both he and Scoot to complement each other. Can we fast forward a few yrs and see them in the playoffs?

I'd hold on the Simons trade talk until we know what we have in Scoot. Even if Scoot eventually becomes a very good player, it may not be for a couple of years, I don't think he's ready to play big minutes yet.

Scoot/Simons/Sharpe all starting is another possibility

It is very noticeable how well he shares the ball and finds the open man. I like him at the 2, but he clearly could handle PG duties for a few minutes a game if needed. Honestly, his scoring/assist/rebound numbers remind me a bit of number 22. It would be super easy for him to justify being a ball hog with Ant out. But his offense has been very balanced with shooting and passing.

Clyde at 21: 8pts/3reb/2asst. Clyde second year in the league 17/6/6. Although Clyde entered those seasons on a better team than the current Blazer team.

lots of great players who’ve excelled in that roll but you’re probably right can’t see him being happy in that role after being a starter. Would be ideal for us because it would have that dynamic scorer off the bench who would be going against 2nd string players. It would also give us a shooter we could bring in late in games slide Sharpe to 3 in late game situations

Perhaps but let's see a full season of Ant being the #1 go to guy before moving him to a bench role. I feel like he was destined to breakout this yr in a big way (like 25/7/5 big on great efficiency).

And I've been impressed with Scoot's defense while Ant seemed improved in the one game we saw him. I want us to see 50+ games of Scoot/Ant/Shae before deciding it won't work.

My problem is making Ant #1 means Sharpe again slides down a slot. The less of Sharpe you ask the less you get from him. Twice now (late last season and early this season) he’s been asked the be the “guy” and twice he’s shown he can be that guy (although small sample size).

Sharpe is the better assist guy and ball flows in offense better with him while Ant is the bester shooter. I want the player that makes players around him better

I don't see him having a problem if it is successful. I think we often project how we would take getting benched, rather than how a professional who just got paid would feel. Either way, he would get his minutes and would be on the court in crunch time....unless they add someone else who can shoot even better. Now if he came off the bench and we sucked then I agree he won't be happy......none of them will.

I've been wanting a Drexler like player on this team for so long. All the shit about Damian being the best Blazer ever. Does anyone who is old enough to remember Clyde think Damian was a better player?

Only at the end of games. Clyde had size and could jump out of the building for an SG. He was an excellent 2-way player. But I preferred Porter taking the last shot. But overall yeah I agree with you. If I had to choose one of them right now....in their prime...I choose the Glyde.

he just wasn't as good as MJ

Clyde wasn't really a half court closer, but Damian's "clutchiness" is extremely over-rated. He botched/missed it far more often than not. Damian just had some incredible clutch shots in the playoffs.

Clyde was also a master at leading the break and finding guys for easy dunks/layups.

I genuinely don’t think there’s a lot of pressure on the FO to make moves right now. After going all in they’re calling the big blinds and waiting out the table.

Thybulle has been terrible and really not that effective on defense. He’s starting because we didn’t really have a great option at the three, but now we have Camara.

I started to fall into that Dame was better but think I just got wrapped in Dames scoring. Drexler was a guy that made everyone better a
Only thing that separated MJ and Drexler was desire and work ethic. Drexler had all the same tools and MJ even said it.

    Sharpe has so many similarities

    - both jump out of gym
    - both decent 3 pt shooters
    - both score from all 3 levels
    - surprisingly both are decent assist guys, who make the game easier for teammates
    - both kind of have that attitude that at times seems disinterested (not a lot of emotion)
    - can score in bunches
    - Drexler was a decent defender and Sharpe seems like he will be
    - neither great dribblers
    - sharpe starting to show Drexler finger roll

Hopefully he continues to play at this level. Sure there are going to be ups and downs but love what I see so far

I really really like Camara and think he’s exactly what we need at the 3.

3 and D who gets you hussle plays that extend offensive possessions or gets you defensive stops/rebounds. I would start him now
