Yup. Signed GP2 who was injured, traded for RWIII who is always injured. Even Scoot dealt with injuries in the G-League. It's not like we avoid the injury prone types.
signed a 4 year deal to injury prone Nassir Little. Then the Front Office jotted down GP2 & Nas missed games as the reason why the team couldn't win with Lillard. Every team gets ouchies throughout the season. Watching Portland blame blatant tanking on the injury bug is farfetched. The end of season pressers have become a comedy skit.
Yeah, why oh why did they draft Lillard coming off of a broken foot??? Most everyone who has played a significant amount of hoops has been injured a few times... it's part of the game. With this in mind, it's important to differentiate between injuries that cause long term issues and those that can be overcome. Knees, ankles and backs are among the most chronic issues, which is why I didn't think Williams would be playing much going forward. STOMP
There are many examples of foot injuries derailing promising careers. Hoops is a rough game with the floor dealing out much of the punishment. Everyone gets injured but not all injuries are the same. STOMP
worry sure, but Lillard & MJ are a couple of prime examples where players careers were not derailed by a broken foot. I worry more about joint injuries, especially knees. Cartilage doesn't grow back. STOMP
So Williams deal runs out after 25-26, which is the same offseason Shaedon's rookie deal is over. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that means that they could clear that capspace for a FA prior to reupping SS right? STOMP
Shaedon's cap hold is just over 11M. So yeah besides that if Rob were still on the team for some reason, we could let him walk and that would clear out a little cap space.
Wishing you a successful season ending surgery and a healthy recovery!! It sure was a fun week while it lasted!!
I love the people on this thread thinking this furthers the "Blazers Big Man Curse" ... look at his games played in his career! This guy was an injury just waiting to happen and why some of us were calling for him to be traded the minute we got him. Hell I'd deal Brogdon right now too if I could!
I got to tell ya, the Blazers really helped Boston rid themselves of an injury prone player . And piss off Miami again....
Well I think he's doing the right thing getting it completely repaired now instead of just cleaned up so he could still play in a couple of months. We have him for 3seasons so he'll be back. Nurk took longer to get back.
We are not winning a championship this year, so I am not overly concerned about this. Glad they are not trying to bandage him up and get him on the court too early.
