Is anyone pissed about the free throw discrepancy with the Lakers?
    37 to 9 just doesn't seem right.

We did the same thing to Detroit and Memphis. But the calls we got weren’t even close to the bullshit favoritism they give Davis.

credit the Lakers for passing the ball in deep, getting to the rack. LA took 19 threes compared to Portland's 37. Blazers actually hit a few more deep jumpers then normal. Kinda made the game somewhat close.

The Blazers took almost 20 more 3s than the Lakers......and the Lakers pounded the ball down low.

Where was this thread a few games earlier when the Blazers took way more FTs than their opponent? #ClownTown

Aka handed the ball to Anthony Davis and he flopped like a bitch. 12 FTA for Davis alone.

The Lakers have had by far the largest free throw advantage this season and last. Double that of the next closest team. "wHeRe wAs tHiS fOr PoRtLaNd" is silly.

Maybe just watch the game? We shot 18 more 3s. We did a piss poor job of getting to the line. The Lakers did a great job. Were there calls that make you scratch your head? Sure.

There were calls that made the Lakers and their own announcers scratch their heads.

Including the replay and the obvious travel right before it in which Davis sky'd for the rebound alone, came down with the ball directly in front of the ref, then fell down while still holding the ball. Then locked eyes with the ref from the floor, knowing full well he'd just traveled in the most obvious way possible. Before getting back up and giving the ball to a teammate, no call.

for some reason(s), there aren't a lot of FT's in Blazer games. Currently they rank 20th in FTA/game; but their opponents rank 22nd in FTA/game

maybe it's just because the Blazers slow the game down. They are dead last in points/game and last in offensive rating. But they are 9th in defensive rating and 9th in opponent points/game. Blazers are also 24th in pace. That looks a lot like Portland making games 'ugly' although I don't think it's intentional; just a product of being much worse on offense than they are on defense

We have guards who don’t like to run. Brogdon and now Mays are both slow. Even Shae tends to bring the ball up slowly. We are also iso heavy with lots of dribbling. I’m hoping Scoot speeds things up when he comes back.

I freaking hate ISO ball. Portland will never find success that way.

Per36, Scoot has averaged 5.1 turnovers vs 5.8 assists; among the 209 'qualified' NBA players (if he qualified), he ranks 207th out of 209 in turnover rate. Maybe Scoot needs to learn to walk before he runs

I'd much prefer he learns to play up tempo rather than slow.

He'll figure out what passes work and what passes don't at this level. Then he'll start getting more assists and fewer turnovers.

It doesn't take much improvement at all to see a drastic change in turnover rate. Especially with such a small sample size with a new and inexperienced supporting cast.

Most of the players on that list have played in twice as many games this season. The sample size is so ridiculously small that I don’t see the point in looking at them. And most of those turnovers, if memory serves, were in a half court set. Not in an up tempo offense.

I know all that....I'm just saying I'm not sure, at this point in his career, that Scoot is capable of shifting Portland into higher gear

I think he’s the only guard that is inclined to play at that pace. Whether he is capable is another matter.
