Starting 27 games for Amicale Steinsel of the Luxembourg Basketball League last season, Reese averaged 23.7 points (49.5% FG, 43.5% 3-PT, 82.4% FT), 12.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5 blocks in 33.1 minutes per game.
Why do I care a little about Alex Reese? Because he's 6'9" and can hit catch-and-shoot 3-pointers without hesitation. What we though Kris Murray was supposed to be. That's exactly what he did on his first shot attempt with the Rip City Remix, drilled a 3 without hesitation. So I though he might be worth investigating a bit.
In this very short clip of Reese in his first game with the Remix, he does 2 bad things and 3 good things. 1. dumb foul far from the hoop - bad 2. good position for a rebound - good 3. after rebounding he makes a bad pass for a turnover - bad 4. he makes up for it by blocking the shot - good 5. the ball finds its way to him on the 3-point line, which he doesn't hesitate to shoot and convert - good The link below is now working (Should at/near 15:50). Cued up to above good and bad of Reese, after a couple free throws by Rupert. https://www.youtube.com/live/yBHqODTc_ww?si=LsgDJlEBCztYnHDp
Yes, I didn't see all of the game so couldn't comment on his rebounding. However, the one rebound I saw him get, he was clearly setting up for a specific position which is exactly where the ball went.
I am uncomfortable with how geeked I am about the fact the remix exist and can be used as a farm team for the slightly better farm team.
