Btw advanced stats esp on defense for toumani are off the charts good. Like Herb Jones good. This guy is lockdown. He is exactly the kinda wing we have been desperate for. Low usage versatile defender who can also protect the rim. All he needs to do is hit 37% of his catch and shoot threes and we absolutely do have a starting forward of the future.
Nope. He's fucking trash. 11 games has already told me he will NEVER EVER improve. And yes, someone in this very thread thinks that. No, it's not me or you.
The funny thing is that Thybulle had the same knock and I swear that Camara is a better defender than Thybulle. And Tisse was All Defense. The refs already seem to respect his defense. He doesn’t get called for nearly the amount of fouls that I would expect on a rookie.
his shot isnt bad at all, he just needs more reps. I love Camara, aside from sharpe and scoot hes one of the younger players I enjoy watching. Just seems like more often than not hes in the right place at the right time or playing hard defense. As most said if he could get his percentages up a bit on his catch and shoot it'd be amazing but i think given time it will go up.
Camara has a ways to go on catch-n-shoot. He's shooting 23% on those possessions. Weird thing is about 1/3 of his three's are corner three's and he's only shooting 10% on those. Thybulle is shooting 55% on corner three's
Love his hustle and energy! Solid defensive instincts and good length, if he develops offensively he will be trouble. He’s here on the cheap for the next 4 years so we get to watch the cake bake as they say, worst case scenario is he isn’t what is needed and then move on.
Stupid fucking thread, but I suppose the concept needed to threshed out a bit. We have a top 10 defense. This is incredibly rare for a young team, and TooMany Buckets is a big reason why.... and now he has supplanted Thy as a starter. Things, from that perspective, are definitely looking up. What about the offense, and his statz?!?!? Our offense is worst-in-the-league bad, but not because we have players who can't play offense. This team has VERY little continuity from last year, and with the little continuity that we do have is mitigated by the newly made not-built-around-a-ball-dominated-Dame offense. Add that to the fact that we have FOUR players of our top 8 injured (and it's not like they were our worst 4 of the group). I doubt the rationality of anyone who thinks any team can thrive with 4 of top 8 missing under any conditions, but especially in this era of massive balance among the teams. #MicDrop
Because the point was to pit a team of great offense/crappy defense players vs a team of crappy offense/great defensive players.
I'm not saying anything about what we invested in him. I'm just saying I don't see why people are excited about him.
Because your basis of excitement is: if it isn't IMMEDIATE AND GROUNDBREAKING you're always going to find faults. Instead of: Having excitement of WE SEE A PATH IF HE IMPROVES AND IM EXCITED. So really, that's on you.
Go ahead and get excited about every player we ever acquire, because there's a chance they might tremendously improve. I like to have a reason to be excited though, hence, the original question. If you get excited about everyone, that doesn't answer the question, it just makes you a bit delusional.
This is the exact same thing I have wanted to see with Ayton running to the hoop starting from the 3-point line on the weak side. Billups makes Zero use of Ayton's quickness as a big man. How many times did we see this type of cutting again the in game?
